The ending comes for our baddies but while one leaves begging and screaming, the other goes out with a bang and a smile. Yeo Kyung also atones for her crime and Moo Myeong walks away from it all, leaving Goongnakwon in the hands of the one who’s always loved noodles with her heart and us with a bittersweet feeling because… Tae Ha.
Master god of noodles
Everyone comes together to bring Gil Do down but we have the first casualty and it’s depressingly Tae Ha. So Tae Sub’s risen as our new big bad and Gil Do’s injured, broken and on the run. Moo Myeong’s still obsessed with bringing Gil Do down and we race headlong into the big finish.
Some baddies deserve the slowly take them apart treatment. Gil Do’s one of those and the show doesn’t disappoint. Dokku comes to the rescue several times over and is solidly on the sides of our kids. Alliances get reshuffled and rearranged and the pressure finally has Gil Do snapping as the monster emerges.
We hold our breaths because things get even more intense than the usual Master: God of Noodles style. Gil Do teams up with unlikely allies, as does Yeo Kyung. Moo Myeong finds someone else on his side and Tae Ha rushes to Yeo Kyung’s aid, only for everything to come crashing down because of a picture.
Sometimes just giving the viewers a taste of what the beginning of the end will look like, is enough. Moo Myeong comes back to Goongnakwon and makes his play. Yeo Kyung pitches her tent and there’s no going back. Tae Ha has to stand up to the only other father figure he has and Moo Myeong makes a depressing discovery with regards to his noodle making skills.
When all the masks come off, the bets are off as well and all we can do is hope our heroes survive, except, are they even heroes? Da Hae learns the truth and Gil Do learns the congressman has always known the truth. Gang Sook is recklessly pushing to bring Gil Do down and Moo Myeong recklessly backstabs a friend. Everything boils down to catching their parents killers as Yeo Kyung learns who is behind her parents’ murder and Moo Myeong stares into the eyes of his parents’ killer without a blink or a tremble.
Desperation sometimes leads you to making the worst mistakes possible, as does being purposefully vague. Everyone tries to get something from Da Hae this episode, although she’s slowly learning to peel back the layers. Tae Ha might be getting drawn to the dark side and Gil Do still plays mind tricks. Congressman So Tae Sub takes a gamble and Da Hae discovers a secret.
Multiple heads are always better than one when trying to carry out revenge; unless you’re Kim Gil Do. Moo Myeong and Yeo Kyung finally meet and form an alliance. Tae Ha falls even more in love. Moo Myeong gets a promotion but is caught in big trouble and Da Hee finally learns the truth.
Sometimes distrust can lead to potential losses that can be most damaging. Tae Hae’s still lying that he’s not doing his acts for his friends. Yeo Kyung still has his back, even though it goes against everything she believes in. Dae Chun regains consciousness, but maybe not for long, and the noose is tightening around Gil Do’s neck even though he’s still unawares. Moo Myeong is setting the table well, and soon, there shall be a feast.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Tae Ha throws away his cautions to join his friends in the battle. Moo Myeong continues to work his way into gaining control of Goongnakwon. Da Hee’s the only one unaware of Gang Sook’s feelings towards her and Gil Do meets an old enemy.
