Dan Tae comes through for Gong Shim, except she’s not as pleased when the truth comes out. Joon Soo’s back in town and he’s back to being himself and helping Dan Tae like he’s meant to have done from the start. Gong Mi is STILL annoying and Dae Chul’s not as smart as he thinks.
Beautiful Gong Shim
There’s still dillydallying with the whodunit mystery but Dan Tae finally makes some headway. Joon Soo hears information that further implicates his mother, Dae Chul continues to think that he’s a smart villain but Gong Shim’s still Gong Shim, the saving grace of this entire episode.
The coincidences keep adding up and our characters keep acting totally moronic. Dae Chul remains the most inept villain ever, but because Dan Tae’s forgotten his intelligence and connections and Joon Soo’s still on his idealistic train, Dae Chul continues to wreck havoc on everything and my nerves. Thankfully Gong Shim’s still cute but we don’t see her enough.
Joon Soo keeps making the situation worse because he just can’t keep a lid on his mouth and he’s brimming with idealism and misplaced trust. Gong Shim and Dan Tae have the sweetest date and Dan Tae sort of confesses to Gong Shim. Gong Mi’s ousted as a lying gold digger. Dae Chul’s close to discovering Soo Yong and Joon Soo’s close to discovering the truth.
It turns out that a son’s love for his mother can have him trying to cover up for her, by any means necessary. Joon Soo’s suspicions continue to rise and he’s just a test away from having them confirmed. Dan Tae finally learns that Joon Soo was at the arboretum. Gong Mi remains annoying and Gong Shim is awesomely and patiently waiting for her happy ending.
Just a taste of how sweet a relationship with Gong Shim can be has Dan Tae looking at her with stars in his eyes even as he begs her sleeping self to wait for him. Joon Soo covers for his mother and prolongs the inevitable. Dan Tae’s still searching for the culprit but seems to have hit a brick wall. Grandmother we learn knows the truth and Dan Tae and Gong Shim are hopelessly in love even if they can’t be together just yet.
Sometimes we come so close to the truth and yet are blinded by our preconceptions and the secrets we keep. Joon Soo shares his secrets with Dan Tae but Dan Tae holds back. Gong Shim breaks out into her own person and refuses to give up on her love. Joon Soo makes a heartbreaking discovery and Dan Tae feels the sting of betrayal.
Falling in love is easy, admitting it is difficult, which is why we sometimes hold our breath and close our eyes as we hope the object of our affection returns the feelings. Gong Shim continues to fall in love and then works up the courage to tell Dan Tae. Dan Tae who has figured it out before she tells him the news sets out on a path of noble idiocy. Joon Soo tries to break away from his family but his secrets has Dan Tae doubting him. Dae Chul on the other hand is still managing to keep his secrets.
The best way to get to the truth is to head straight into the heart of the matter. Soo Yong’s not quick to tell his son the truth and now he might never get that chance. Dae Chul keeps digging a hole for himself and his sister’s no different. Gong Mi remains annoying and obtuse. Dan Tae changes jobs. Gong Shim is at an impasse and Dan Tae finds an ally in the most unexpected place.
No matter how much you run, you can’t hide the truth, even if you’ve been running for the past 26 years. Dan Tae learns a truth that shocks him to the very core. Gong Shim travels and has to come back home. Joon Soo is an adorably cute drunk and Gong Shim has started to fall even deeper in love.
