We get glimpses of what might have happened to Louis, although the questions still abound and Director Baek is looking mighty shady. Louis continues to be the most adorable fish out of water and Bok Sil remains the loyal mama bear. As for Ma Ri? Yup. Louis was soo right about her.
Top 10 Moments:
- As far’s the world’s concerned, Louis is dead. As for Louis, he has no idea who he is (poor baby)
We open with Louis speeding along to get to his Grandmother’s where the party’s in full swing, and everyone’s wondering where Louis is. It’s a sentiment that’s echoed by Director Baek who comes running in to inform Grandma that Louis hadn’t waited for him to pick him up. Instead he’d driven his own car. A car that at that exact moment gets hit by an incoming truck. And so, Louis finds himself homeless and without any memory, and Bok Sil who finds him and recognizes the jacket he has on as the one belonging to Bok Nam, takes him to the police so they can take his statement. Louis is adorably flustered and has no recollection of anything and the cop states that Louis might have encountered Bok Nam, back when he still had his memory. Bok Sil takes it as a sign: if she takes proper care of Louis, he will regain his memory and can direct her to where Bok Nam is. Grandma meanwhile is utterly devastated when the prized watch she’d given Louis for his birthday was recovered from the crash site, along with the news that her beloved grandson is dead.
2. Mama Hen, meet your baby chick (hahahaha. He’s so adorable)
Louis takes to following Bok Sil around as she’s in a hurry to head back to work. Except, he’s hungry (gah! He’s cute), and when Bok Sil declares that even she doesn’t eat three times a day, Louis pouts some more. But then, his attention’s caught by the breakfast toast a woman’s making and when she offers him one, he gobbles it up (hahahaha), leaving Bok Sil to pay for it (even funnier). He then tails her to her workplace, and it turns out to be his Grandma’s company, where Bok Sil works as the cleaning woman. But he is soon kicked out of the place (wait, haven’t the employees seen his picture before? If they’re mourning his loss, shouldn’t his picture be all over that company?), and he isn’t allowed back in because he doesn’t know Bok Sil’s name. So he camps on the company stoop, and narrowly avoids being seen by Director Baek. When Bok Sil finally gets off work, she shares her name with him and when he laughs at how funny it sounds, she points out that he’s not in any position to laugh, seeing that he doesn’t even remember his own name (touche).
3. He might have lost his memory but Louis is having a ton of fun (hahahaha. And he looks utterly adorable too)
Bok Sil takes Louis to the sauna where he’s shocked to see everyone similarly dressed. But, by the time he cleans up, it’s Bok Sil’s turn to be shocked at how handsome he looks (hehehehe), and then Louis takes to exploring the sauna and exclaiming about every new thing he discovers (awwww. He’s so cute). Later that night, he admits to Bok Sil that he’s scared of being alone, being beaten and being looked down upon because they’re not emotions he’s familiar with. He also begs her to stay with him until his memory returns (awwwww), and the two make a pact: she will stay with him until he gets his memory back and he will help her find Bok Nam.
4. Director Baek has the evil “I totally planned it all” villain smirk (yup. He probably has a hand in the whole Louis is missing affair)
Grandma calls Director Baek to inform him of her plan to relocate to Busan where she had the happiest moments with Louis. What this means therefore is that Director Baek will be taking over control of the company. Director Baek tries to act all submissive, but Ho Joon catches the barely held back glee in his eyes. Back in the car however, when one of his cronies talks about hosting a party to celebrate the supposedly ‘appropriate’ decision to have Director Baek take over, Director Baek grins smugly (and that right there, is the reason why I think this man had something to do with Louis’s ‘accident’).
5. Joong Won and Bok Sil are now incommunicado, although Bok Sil’s colleague simply thinks she’s been scammed
A competitor’s product is competing with their luxury jackets and Joong Won holds a meeting with the members of his units so they can plan on how they will turn things in their favour. However, turning things around will involve more work and when Mr. Lee brings this up, Joong Won lashes out at him for always avoiding doing more work (hahaha. Poor Mr. Lee). After the meeting, Mr. Lee brings Joong Won coffee to apologize but in the process, he spills the drink on Joong Won’s phone, meaning Bok Sil’s phone call to him doesn’t go through. Bok Sil’s colleague meanwhile collects her phone and declares that Bok Sil was scammed. Why else would the man be avoiding her calls if not that he doesn’t want to pay the full price for the wild ginseng.
6. Bok Sil finally catches the Grandma scammer (hahahaha. The girl redefines the word, persistent)
Whilst eating bowls of cup ramyeon, Bok Sil spots the Grandma who’d stolen her bag, back on the train. She gives chase to the old woman and even tells Louis to wait behind so she can catch the granny. Grandma scammer is quite willy (damn, Granny can run), but Bok Sil’s extremely persistent and managers to catch her. Except, by the time they do settle down to talk, Grandma gives her a sob story about having come to the city to look for her grandson, but she’d had no money, hence the reason why she’d taken Bok Sil’s bag (hahaha. It will be so hilarious if this is yet another scam). Bok Sil, ever sweet, lets the Grandma go and only collects her dress back.
7. Beware teenage girls with accessorized hammers
A worried Louis camps down at the restaurant where Bok Sil had left him. He’s understandably worried that Bok Sil won’t be able to find him and in moments, he’s surrounded by teenage girls who ask him to buy them dinner. Louis smiles as he replies that he has no money but the girls aren’t joking around and they pull out accessorized weapons and drag him to a hidden shrub where they proceed to beat him up.
8. Bok Nam really has gotten in with the wrong crowd (poor Bok Sil. She will be so heartbroken when she finds out)
As the girls beat him up, Louis flashes back to when he still had on his snazzy plane ride suit and he’d been surrounded by bullies (one of which is Bok Nam). The men had beat him up then as well (damn. Bok Nam really is hanging out with the wrong group). Thankfully, Bok Sil shows up to the rescue and although she’s able to fight the girls, she too ends up soundly beaten, and she and Louis camp down together, looking thoroughly beaten and miserable (awwww. My two puppies). Bok Sil wails about all her money having been taken by the girls. The girls meanwhile, cheer at their good fortune, but one of them mentions the fact that the jacket is quite similar to Bok Nam’s jacket (wait, you guys know Bok Nam too? Well, I guess a group of bullies will always roll together).
9. Run Louis, Run (hahahaha. Poor baby bird)
With all their money gone, Louis follows Bok Sil to her place of work. Bok Sil feeds him a cup of coffee and explains that she’s an orphan (awwww. Yet one more thing you two have in common). Next, Bok Sil has him hide in a toilet stall whilst she works and he falls asleep there. But he wakes up when Joong Won who enters the next stall calls him out on his snoring, and he tries to sneak out. He isn’t able to pull it off however and the minute Joong Won asks what department he works at, Louis takes off. Joong Won tries chasing after him, but isn’t able to catch him and Louis is able to sneak onto the elevator. Ma Ri is also on the elevator and something about his side profile bugs her. But, before she can call out to him, one of the workers recognizes him as the ‘homeless pervert’ who was sniffing her cup of coffee. Louis immediately exits the elevator and when Ma Ri tries calling out to him as she runs after him, he doubles up his efforts so he doesn’t get caught. He finally runs into Bok Sil who hides him and then sends Ma Ri on a wild goose chair (hahaha. Poor Louis. Although if Joong Wong and Ma Ri had gotten a look on his face, they could have been able to identify him and reunite him with Grandma and Ho Joon).
10. Bok Sil and Louis run into strangers (although I don’t know if I should be worried about the one with baby chick Louis)
Bok Sil talks to her colleague: Mrs. Hwang about needing an affordable apartment to stay at. The woman takes her to a rooftop apartment and although Louis is uncomfortable with the place, and Bok Sil points out that there’s a strange smell in the place, Mrs. Hwang plays it like they’re getting a good deal. Turns out though that Mrs. Hwang’s shady as she gets a cut from the landlord by pointing out that the rent she was able to finagle was quite high, considering that three people have already died in the apartment (what the fuck?!). Later that night, whilst Louis and Bok Sil sleep, a man in a raincoat watches them from across the street. The next morning, Bok Sil’s back at work and when Joong Won slips on a puddle of water, he screams at the cleaning lady and is surprised when he recognizes her as Bok Sil. Louis meanwhile gets a visitor who’s wearing the same tracksuit as Louis and who tells him “hello stranger” in English (who is this guy?!)
Character I wanted to bitchslap:
I barely held myself back in the first episode, but bitch deserves the bitchslap. Like seriously! The guy is dead! His Grandma and trusted butler are in pain and you’re not even mourning his loss but the loss of your future chairman husband? Seriously?! And then you have the audacity to perk up at the thought of inheriting the company. Bitch, it’s not yours. Shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down.
Headache inducing moment:
None in this episode.
This episode’s a Sparkling Pomegranate Caipirinha. It’s delicate, sweet and light Louis is sweet, and adorable and so trusting and for his sake, I’m thankful that he met Bok Sil. Because Bok Sil is a one of a kind sweetheart and things would definitely have gone awry if he’d run into someone else (someone like Ma Ri for example). I’m also thankful that he’s getting this moment of being away from his grandmother and trusty Ho Joon because as much as Louis had the world at his fingertips, he knew nothing of the world and would have been utterly unable to handle the various hurdles, suddenly being the heir to a conglomerate would have thrown his way. But now, he’s in the real world and he will have to learn how to survive. Because, no matter how evil Director Baek is, and how greedy the board of directors will get, no one can be as scary as those teenage girls with their accessorized hammers.
