Shao Xiang’s a delusional, superficial idiot, who will most certainly get the shock of his life, sometime soon. Wei Wei and Nai He progress to the championship of Candor Heroes, but an accident derails their plans and might just be the spur that Wei Wei needs.
Top 10 Moments:
- Wu Xiang and Enchantress Yu are perfect together. Who knew the two biggest cowards would couple up together (hahahahaha)
Nai He and Wei Wei move on to the next stage in the Candor of Heroes tournament: the duels. Old Man Yu prays that they will face off against Wu Xiang and Enchantress Yu. Just like he’d predicted it, Nai He and Wei Wei face off with Wu Xiang and Enchantress Yu in the first round and although Nai He wants to attack Enchantress Yu first (she’s the weakest link and the doctor of the pair), Wei Wei’s all smiles as she suggests that she face off Enchantress Yu, and Nai He can back her up should she run into any troubles. But just before she can attack, Wu Xiang and Enchantress Yu disappear (hahahaha). Wei Wei wonders if they’re that scary, and Nai He teases her that she’s the scarier one (hehehehe). But with Wu Xiang and Enchantress Yu running away, Nai He and Wei Wei win the first round and have to battle it out with Wei Wei’s old guild friend: Wei Xing and her ex guild master Tien Xia. The two of them are good, but are no match for Wei Wei and Nai He who defeat them quite easily. Wei Xing doesn’t hold any grudges about the win however and has Wei Wei meet her at the same location where they’d first met. She apologizes for Tien Xia’s actions (the guild had first belonged to Wei Xing before she’d passed it on to Tien Xia), and asks if Wei Wei can once again join the guild. Wei Wei gently turns her down, but then brings up Qing Qing. Wei Xing replies that she will handle Qing Qing, and she then adds that she and Tien Xia are actually an offline couple as well.
2. Tien Xia and Wei Xing are no longer a couple (of course Qing Qing’s behind it)
The final match of the Candor of Heroes pairs Wei Wei and Nai He against Wei Xing and Tien Xia, yet again. But the latter couple don’t show up and just as they’re about to forfeit the game, the announcement comes on that the two of them have split up. This of course means that Wei Wei and Nai He win by default and are now their server’s champions. Which then means that they will represent their Beijing server and duel it out with champions from other servers. After the announcement is made, Wei Wei goes to meet Nini who confirms that the separation happened because of Qing Qing who Wei Xing wanted to kick out of her guild whilst Tien Xia wanted her to stay.
3. Shao Xiang continues to make the wrong assumptions about Wei Wei and Nai He (damn, I’m so looking forward to when he learns the truth)
Yao (Enchantress Yu) calls Shao Xiang to bitch about the fact that Qing Qing’s been accusing her of being responsible for Wei Wei and Nai He winning their server’s championship, and being on the way to being overall champions (hahaha. Apparently Qing Qing thinks if Enchantress Yu had showed up to battle Wei Wei and Nai He, then she and Wu Xiang would have been able to defeat them. Talk about delusional). Shao Xiang doesn’t consider this anything to worry about because Wei Wei and Nai He are losers (hahaha. What an idiot). Besides, there’s no woman as ‘kind’ as Yao who’s talking to him on behalf of her friend. He then offers to take Yao to dinner followed by some shopping. When Yao replies that she’s not with him because of his money, he smiles (of course he has no idea that’s she’s already shopping as she talks to him). After his call with Yao ends, CEO Zhen calls him. Turns out that he’s been trying to reach Shao Xiang for a while. Shao Xiang though is filled with complaints as to the reason why he’s at the office and even his father telling him that he wants him to learn the business so it can be passed onto him is not enough to get him to act mature (what a spoiled brat).
4. Xi get into Zhen Yi. The others? Not so much
Xi gets an email in her inbox, informing her about her acceptance as an intern into Zhen Yi. However, she’s the only one who gets the acceptance email as neither Si Si, Ling or Wei Wei get accepted (hmmm. I thought Yi Ran’s plan was for none of them to make it?). Xi believes that she got in based on the outfit she wore for the interview (yeah right. It’s probably because Shao Xiang thinks you’re Wei Wei), and suggests that her roommates go shopping with her so they can pick out more normal clothes they can all wear. Wei Wei’s not up for shopping however, and when her roommates try to change her mind, she brings up the championship fight that’s that night. Ling though, believes that Wei Wei will make it on time, and that’s enough to get Wei Wei to agree to go with the girls.
5. Zhen Yi has put their plan of blocking all of Zhi Yi’s investment options, in motion
After a day spent shopping, the girls spot Nai meeting with some businessmen and although Nai smiles at Wei Wei when he notices her with her friends, he doesn’t say anything, but instead heads to the car which drives off. Ling then tells her friends about the rumours she’d heard: Zhi Yi’s in financial troubles and can’t seem to get the investment they need (aha. Zhen Yi’s put their plans in motion). The girls are shocked but Si Si’s convinced that Nai is smart enough to come up with a plan. With that said, they head into the restaurant to have their dinner.
6. Nai and Ban Shan get into an accident (noooooooo!)
Nai and Ban Shan head back home, and Ban Shan brings up the fact that Zhen Yi’s acting just like Nai had predicted. He asks Nai when they will put their other plan in motion and reach out to CEO Feng but Nai replies that it’s not yet time for that. Ban Shan then brings up the fact that he’d seen Wei Wei and he wonders if a relationship will develop between him (Ban Shan) and Wei Wei (hahaha. Not if Nai can help it). Nai shoots down the words and Ban Shan’s all smiles as he replies that soon he will get a good job and would be able to meet hostess like models at industry events. He’s distracted talking to Nai about his dreams and so doesn’t see the approaching truck. Nai who sees it, calls out and turns the car away from the truck. The turn though, isn’t enough to stop them from crashing.
7. Wei Wei and Nai He lose the Candor of Heroes Championship (my poor lovebirds)
Wei Wei immediately logs into the game the minute she gets back to her room, so she can meet Nai He, thirty minutes before the tournament’s to start, just like they’d planned. Nai He though isn’t online, as he’s at the moment, unconscious and being rushed into the hospital. Ban Shan’s upset with himself as he believes that it’s because he’d been distracted that they got into the accident, and Wei Wei who’s unaware that her husband (game husband anyway) is at the moment in an OR, being operated on, waits and waits, all the while listening to the comments of the other players who wonder if she and Nai He are pulling a Wei Xing and Tien Xia (i.e. breaking up before a fight), whilst others are calling it a spate of bad luck that she’s been dumped yet again. When the time for the fight arrives and Nai He’s a no-show, Wei Wei and Nai He are declared to have forfeited the game whilst the other players from the other servers are declared the champions. Wei Wei meanwhile logs out of the game whilst Qing Qing, Fei Fei, Mian Mian and Yao laugh at Wei Wei and declare that Nai He probably dumped her. Yao then brings up the fact that Shao Xing told her about ‘Wei Wei’ showing up for an interview for an internship position in his company and how ugly she looks (what the fuck? Xi’s a pretty girl. What assholes). The girls laugh and promise to visit Shao Xing’s company so they can humiliate ‘Wei Wei’.
8. Wei Wei’s down in the dumps, although her friends have no idea why (poor Wei Wei. She probably hasn’t figured out the exact reason why she is upset)
After Wei Wei logs out from the game, she’s visibly disheartened and after admitting to Xi that the match is over, she heads to the bathroom to run the tap and give herself some alone time. Her friends are understandably worried, and correctly guess that she lost the championship. They however realize that bringing it up would just make Wei Wei feel so much worse, and so they don’t ask her any questions about it.
9. Wei Wei needs a distraction fast (when you start seeing things that aren’t there, it screams trouble)
Wei Wei spends the days leading to her exams being down in the dumps and lost in thought. She even sees Nai He playing a basketball game at the basketball court. It’s not Nai He though, but a group of friends and the sight has Wei Wei looking even more depressed. Next on her list is finding a distraction and she takes to jogging several laps around the school field. Ling, Si Si and Xi who had initially been trailing behind her, all drop back and although the other girls suggest that Wei Wei might be upset at whatever it was that happened in the game, Xi is convinced that Wei Wei’s just acting that way because of her exams.
10. Nai regains consciousness and his first priority? Wei Wei
Nai finally regains consciousness and finds his parents and his friends keeping vigil. Turns out that his friends had been worried about his unconsciousness and the fact that the doctor had looked worried after he’d seen Nai’s MRI results. Nai’s mother though is just thankful that he’s alright, but she brings up the fact that he should have been more careful whilst driving. It’s at this points that Ban Shan admits that he was the one driving, and Nai’s father tells him not to think on it. Accidents happen, but what’s important now is that Nai survived. His parents then leave the room so they can spread the good news to their family, and Nai turns to his friends to ask them what the time is. When they tell him that it’s afternoon, he immediately asks them to log into the game so they can tell Wei Wei exactly what happened (awwwww. So cute. You think of her first and foremost. How adorable).
Character I wanted to bitchslap:
No one in this episode.
Headache inducing moment:
None in this episode.
This episode’s a Honeyed Cherry Daiquiri, sweet with the little moments of Wei Wei and Nai He being badasses and kicking ass within the game, and the relief that Nai survived the accident without any problem whatsoever (he probably has a concussion, but in the grand scheme of things, he’s alright). But there’s also the tartness in the accident occuring and the fact that Wei Wei’s heart got broken. But the tartness blends back into sweet yet again because we’re very much aware that this might just be the push Wei Wei needs to take their romance offline, and so if she has to go through the pain and hurt for a short while, I don’t mind one bit. Wei Wei, we know that you and Nai He are perfect for each other, in the game. Now’s the time to show us that you’re perfect in reality as well.
