Zhen Yi tries to separate the boys and they stick to their guns and prove that this friendship is solid (may it remain so to the very end). Nai’s online seduction is working very well and Wei Wei’s having thoughts that would make Nai very happy (should he be privy to them, that is).
Top 10 Moments:
- The best way to get a girl’s heart? Get her to smile and cry in the space of seconds
Whilst Guang’s logged into the game, searching for Wei Wei’s player ID, Wei Wei’s at the library, logging into the game so she can watch the video Nai He submitted for the competition. The story is every bit as sad and romantic as she’d wanted it to be and as she watches it, she smiles and cries in turn. Nai who is also in the library (although hidden behind a bookcase) watches her watch the video and smiles (awwww. So cute).
2. Nai’s a master all right. A master of messing with a girl’s head (hahaha. Poor Wei Wei)
Turns out that the reason Wei Wei got so emotional was become Nai He made the ending more sentimental. His reason? A longer video means that they will get even more rewards should they win. Wei Wei’s stumped that the longer video which made her so emotional was done just to get more rewards (hehehe. Trust me sweetie. That so wasn’t why he did it). Nai then asks her to put up the video, and Wei Wei gets back to him after she’ done it, stating that quite a lot of players admitted that they cried whilst watching the video. She then asks him why the musician had to kill the bandit and Nai deflects the question by pointing out that that part was her idea. Wei Wei smiles and asks him if he would kill the bandit as well, were he the musician. Nai replies that he is not the musician and the musician isn’t him. He wouldn’t have been so harsh as that he would kill the bandit. Wei Wei smiles at the response.
3. Xi and Guang meet in the game world (this meeting actually goes better than their initial meeting did)
Back in her room, Wei Wei finds an ecstatic Xi still hooked on to the game. Turns out that Wei Wei helped her level up and now Xi isn’t interested in leaving Pu village because with Wei Wei’s help, she’s now risen to being the top player on the beginner’s server. And sure enough, she finds it easy dispersing little monsters. But when she sees Guang (who she of course has no idea is Guang) being dragged by orc like monsters, she rushes to his rescue. But she isn’t strong enough to take them on and drags Wei Wei over to help her finish the fight. Wei Wei disperses of the monsters pretty easily and Guang who’s grateful for the rescue, asks Xi to take him on as her apprentice. He is very deferential and Xi, grinning at the thought that she’s found a player who’s even worse than her, and who will spend the time praising her, agrees.
4. Wu Xiang’s a sore loser terrified of losing (ha!)
Wei Wei shows Ling the result of the video contest polls. Apparently, Wei Wei and Nai He’s video has amassed the highest amount of votes and they’re a shoo-in to win. When Wei Wei logs back into the game, her friend Ni Ni asks her if she will be willing to drop out of the contest for a large sum of money. Wei Wei correctly guesses that the person making the offer is Wu Xiang and Ni Ni tells her that Enchantress Yu really wants the rainbow suit that the winner will get and now that the player behind Wu Xiang is now also dating the player behind Enchantress Yu in real life, he wants to get her the suit to make her happy. Thankfully, Wei Wei shoots down the proposal and declares that no amount of money will get her to drop out of the contest.
5. Nothing starts a friendly brawl than a case of “I have a wife so I’m cooler than you” (hahaha)
Ni Ni brings up the fact that she has a photo of Wu Xiang and asks if Wei Wei wants to see what the man looks like in reality. Wei Wei replies that she’s not interested and when Ni Ni asks her if she’s met Nai He outside of the gaming world, she replies that she hasn’t either. Ni Ni’s stunned at the news but Wei Wei’s more focused on returning to the game so she can fight with monsters and gain experience points. Whilst she fights, Nai He makes himself comfortable and plays his music. When his friends show up and tease him about his hiding behind his wife who’s gaining him experience points, he points out that they have no wife to protect them and so would have no idea about how it feels. This sets them off on a friendly tussle and Nai He of course takes all three of them down (he’s so awesome).
6. Nai’s online seduction is working well. Really well
The game notification system comes on and the winners of the video contest are announced. It’s Wei Wei and Nai He (as expected :D) and they’re both giving new robes as their winnings. They change into it and are soon wearing matching sets, and Nai He even gives his robes rainbow colour feature a go. But he switches back to his old clothing and his friends tease him about his not wanting to wear the same outfit as his wife. Nai He replies that he and Wei Wei have been married for a while and so neither of them are given to such. The words clearly affect Wei Wei and after she logs out, they ring in her head. She also remembers Ni Ni asking her if she’s met Nai He outside the game and she thinks to herself that if Nai He asks that they share pictures, she would agree to it (Victory!). She also notes that should he ask that they meet off the game, she would agree to it as well (see that Wu Xiang? Nai didn’t even raise it up with her. She came to that decision all on her own). She however is sure that it won’t come to that because Nai He isn’t the type to make such requests.
7. Nothing says it’s time for some spring cleaning like Nai deciding to return to the dorm
With Nai declaring that he’s returning to the dorm, his roommates take to cleaning up their act. So, Mei washes up on all the dirty socks and Yong Hou and Ban Shan clean up the room, so much so that when another student living in their dorm shows up, the room is as pristine as it can be. He attributes the change on Nai who’s all “Who me? Nah. They just like to clean” (hahaha. Yeah right). The friends wail about Nai forcing them to clean because they’d always used the unsanitary conditions of their room as a deterrent to keep girls out (yeah right). They also wail about their stupidity in ever playing a gam with Nai and we flashback to during their freshman year when they’d all moved in. They’d wanted to arrange the seniority in the room based on age but Nai had suggested they use video games to determine it. Nai had won of course, but he’d settled for being third oldest seeing that the oldest in the room has to be the one to clean up the room and be in charge of it (hahaha. Smart Nai).
8. Zhen Yi’s trying to divide and conquer but Nai’s got something up his sleeves
In the midst of their wailing, Ban Shan gets a phone call. The caller’s CEO Li’s secretary, calling to arrange for a meeting between CEO Li and Ban Shan. Ban Shan buys himself some time, hangs up and brings up the matter to Nai, having figured that Zhen Yi probably doesn’t want Nai to know anything about the conversation. The news surprises the others (except for Nai of course) and Yong Hou wonders if maybe Zhen Yi’s planning on poaching them (there’s no maybe there sweetie. That’s the plan). Nai confirms that that’s exactly what Zhen Yi’s planning and he reminds them of Zhen Yi’s mobile game that earned them a ton. Turns out a smaller company had first come up with the idea and when Zhen Yi saw that they couldn’t acquire the company, they bought the company’s staff, put them to work and launched an almost similar game shortly after, thus putting the small company out of commission. The news shocks the guys who pledge to not go down that route and Ban Shan promises that should the secretary call back, he will reject her offer. Nai smiles mysteriously and wonders why Ban Shan would do that. He doesn’t clarify what he means to the guys though, and merely suggests that they go grab lunch.
9. Sometimes the universe gives you a chance to see your bias. What do you do? Whip out a phone and strategically take as many pictures as you can (hahahaha)
Lunch is a big affair as everyone in the cafeteria whip out their phones to take pictures of Nai. Nai’s focus though is totally on Wei Wei who hasn’t spotted him yet. By the time she does, she and Xi have a moment of fangirl squealing (hahaha) and Wei Wei decides that they should order the exact same thing that Nai’s ordering. Except, she doesn’t even have to wait for him to order as she and Nai simultaneously order the same thing (awww. Would you look at that? You both are in sync already. So cute). The only problem though is that there’s only one portion left and when both Nai and Wei Wei offer the other person the chance to get the dish, in comes Mei who picks up the dish with a happy smile (hmmph! Even the server guy’s glaring at you Mei. Thou who can’t even read the bloody signs).
10. You know your friends have got your back when they get into a fight about who will help you practice
Wei Wei heads back to her room and her game to crosscheck her exam schedule with the schedule of the match of Candor Heroes. She’s pleased to see that the match wouldn’t clash with her exams and Nai tells her to give him a heads up the day before any match so he too can clear things up at his end. Over at his room, his friends offer to be fighting practice for him, and when he points out that the match is for couples and so they have to decide who will be the male and female in their partnership, Yong Hou and Ban Shan get into a pissing contest to prove who’s more worthy (hahaha. I so love this two).
Character I wanted to bitchslap:
No one in this episode.
Headache inducing moment:
None in this episode.
This episode’s a Raspberry Rhubarb Collins Punch, in honor of friends who have your back even when they know that they would be offered money and other freebies to abandon you. As much as I love Wei Wei’s friendship with Xi, I can honestly say that I love Nai’s friendship with Yong Hou, Ban Shan and Mei even more. Why? Because the latter group of friends have Nai’s back, even when faced with the real world. Because they wouldn’t be tempted to betray him for all the money that is offered to them. And because when a clandestine call was made, Ban Shan didn’t even have to think about keeping it away from his friend. The first thing he did was go straight to Nai to talk about it, and then to ask what they can do about it, as a team. Now that’s a friend.
