Just when we think Dae Hae can’t be moronic enough, he goes around and proves us wrong. It all comes crashing down for Soo Ho who loses everything and even Bo Nui who is the only bright spot at this period is being swayed by a shaman who I really think is not as all that as everyone thinks.
Top 10 Moments:
- Taking baby steps
We pick up with Soo Ho getting to his room and packing so he can catch an early flight to see Bo Nui. Ryang Ha is grossed out at all the lovey dovey behavior but Soo Ho doesn’t care. He heads straight to Bo Nui’s house then calls her. When he asks her if she wouldn’t say that she misses him, he grins and then races to her as he hears Bo Nui say that she misses him all the time. When she opens the door for him, he carries her and they head inside (huhn huhn. Sure some hanky panky went down that night :D). Next thing we see, it’s morning and we hear their conversation from the previous night when Soo Ho had offered his willingness to do anything she wanted. Bo Nui hadn’t needed it though. All she wants is to not bring bad luck and to be in a happy relationship with someone, being together and holding hands. When she wakes, she prepares breakfast and Soo Ho smiles when he wakes to hear the sound of her cooking. Of course, when he comes out, he pretends that Bo Nui hadn’t needed to cook for him and he gives one of his adorable snort-smiles when Bo Nui states that she did it because she wanted to take care of him. They then head to work and when Bo Nui discovers on their way that she’d forgotten her red beans and salt, Soo Ho holds her hand as he suggests that she leave it behind as he’s sure nothing bad would happen (I know the superstition is a crutch Soo Ho, but something bad had better not happen though). And surprisingly enough, she agrees (well would you look at that. She’s taken the first step).
2. Soo Ho comes out with their relationship and Dal Nim clearly has feelings for Ryang Ha
The Zeze employees are surprised to see Soo Ho come in shortly after Bo Nui and even more shocked when he asks about work. They point out that he wasn’t meant to fly out till this morning and Ji Hoon teases Soo Ho about him possibly taking an early flight because he wanted to see someone. The Zeze workers all laugh but are shocked when Soo Ho admits to his relationship with Bo Nui, stating that he’s sure they already know anyway. They thank him for telling them the truth because it hasn’t been easy pretending like they didn’t know and then offer Bo Nui their congratulations (awwww). But then Hyun Bin and Seung Hyun come running in, relieved to see that Soo Ho’s well because there had been an accident on the road leading out of the airport and had been worried that Soo Ho was on it. When they ask about Ryang Ha who they assume came in with Soo Ho, Soo Ho starts to panic, as does Dal Nim, and when Ryang Ha shows up at the Zeze office, well and uninjured, Dal Nim goes flying towards him to check that he’s well and truly alright. As she grabs his face and inspects him, she insists that nothing must happen to him before she gets the chance to punish him. When Bo Nui finally calls her attention to her uncharacteristic behavior, she runs away, mortified, leaving everyone else stunned and Ryang Ha wondering what jus happened. In the restroom, she berates herself for acting that way and when Bo Nui joins her to ask if the person she’s had a crush on is Ryang Ha, she vehemently denies it. Bo Nui though, doesn’t really believe her (hahaha. Even I don’t believe her).
3. Soo Ho cashes in his wish
Seol Hee finally finds Gun Wook who is basically uninterested in everything. With the fact that his father still hasn’t reached out to him yet and the drama with Bo Nui, he tells Seol Hee to arrange for his flight to depart the minute “IF” is released. When Seol Hee suggests he go with her, Gun Wook turns her down and wouldn’t even admit that it’s because of Bo Nui that he doesn’t want to go. Seol Hee therefore turns out to be the only person who checks out the game, and she is impressed with how good it is. She also teases Bo Nui and Soo Ho about their love life and tells them both that she’s happy for them. She does mention though that she and Gun Wook will be leaving the minute “IF” is completed seeing that Gun Wook’s already given up a lot and nothing’s worked out for him. When she mentions that Gun Wook’s disheartened, Bo Nui asks if she should go see him but Seol Hee tells her not to. Soo Ho on the other hand shows up at Gun Wook’s to remind Gun Wook that he owes him a boon from the Zeze barbecue weekend when Soo Ho had crossed the finish line before Gun Wook. When Gun Wook asks what it is that Soo Ho wants as his reward, Soo Ho being his adorably prickly self requests that Gun Wook not give up in his search for his father, stating that they’re going to incorporate the search into the game and get the players to work it like a hidden mission and so they will have to use all the files and reports already accumulated, to locate Gun Wook’s father. Plus, Gun Wook will be getting the report in Canada. When Gun Wook grumbles that the game is already completed and there’s no time to add the new feature, Soo Ho replies with his signature “I’m a genius” talk (hahaha) and then meets with Bo Nui to show her how he plans to incorporate the search into the game. She’s so impressed that she calls him an amazing boyfriend and Soo Ho finagles a kiss out of the situation.
4. Our second leads are masters at redeeming themselves and Gun Wook’s finally reunited with his father
Seol Hee meets with Dal Nim who is at first reluctant to resume the friendship they’d agreed on when they were both intoxicated as now that she’s sober, she realizes that she can’t be friends with Bo Nui’s former enemy. Seol Hee though is jealous of Bo Nui who has a great lover and friend and Dal Nim, the ever soft teddy bear gives in. Soon she’s accepting the tons of clothes Seol Hee gives her and although Seol Hee notices the awkwardness between Dal Nim and Ryang Ha (hahaha. You two are just too cute I swear), she doesn’t say a word as she explains that she’s handing over the clothes because she’s decided to now live comfortably and the clothes fit Dal Nim’s new style better, anyway. She states that they should begin a new phase of their life together and suggests they both go on blind dates and find love again. Ryang Ha is clearly uncomfortable with that suggestion and Dal Nim’s eyes swing to him the minute she hears the words (hahaha. You two should just date already). Meanwhile, Gun Wook meets with Bo Nui and tells her that she’d been right in assuming that he was confused. He explains that he’d needed someone to rely on and had confused that for attraction and in the process forgotten that he never had any interest in older women. He does promise though that should Soo Ho do anything to hurt Bo Nui, he’ll be sure to come running to her no matter the country he’s at (awwwww). Bo Nui heads out and runs into Gun Wook’s father who tries to make his escape. But, Gun Wook comes out, right on time and when his father apologizes, he pulls him into a hug telling him that all that matters is that his dad finally came (awwww).
5. Soo Ho’s changing for the better but something’s up
Bo Nui shares the good news with Bo Ra who’s now up, although she doesn’t say anything and Soo Ho smiles as he documents the moment, via his camera (so cute). And when Bo Nui asks Bo Ra if Soo Ho can join them in their selfie (awwww), Soo Ho joins in after introducing himself as Bo Ra’s future brother-in-law (already thinking that far huh Soo Ho? Not like I’m surprised. You’re after all in your thirties. It’s about time you settled down). Back at the office, everyone’s thrilled at how well “IF” turned out and even Soo Ho calls the game the best. He sends them off early for a job well done and then excuses himself from Bo Nui by using Ryang Ha as an excuse. Bo Nui’s depressed when she gets home as she wonders why Soo Ho hadn’t invited her along and Soo Ho doesn’t make things any better when he calls her just to tell her to make sure she eats. And she gets even more depressed when she remembers that she forgot her tiger necklace at work, and heads back to go get it. Meanwhile, at the Zeze office, the suspicious maintenance guy hands Dae Hae a cup of coffee (hmmm. I don’t trust that guy at all) and asks him why everywhere’s so quiet. Dae Hae, the blabbermouth informs him that about “IF’s” launch being the next day and to make it even worse, shows the guy the master key. The suspicious maintenance guy then claims that he’s meant to check something up at the Zeze floor and Dae Hae leads him right there, then leaves him alone when his stomach gets upset (so I was right. Suspicious guy is a saboteur and Dae Hae the moron just left him there). He’s working behind a computer when Bo Nui shows up to pick up her necklace. She doesn’t dwell on him though because Dae Hae points him out as a maintenance guy.
6. Ryang Ha crashes Dal Nim’s date and Soo Ho and Bo Nui have a romantic one
Seol Hee and Dal Nim go on their double date and when Seol Hee suggests they go their separate ways so Dal Nim can have some alone time with her date, Ryang Ha shows up to inform the guy that he and Dal Nim have spent the night together and he was her first (hahaha). He insists that Dal Nim shouldn’t go on dates and then holds her hand as they run away together, leaving a flummoxed Seol Hee behind (hahaha). Bo Nui on the other hand, is at home, praying for the successful launch of IF and for Soo Ho’s protection. She then gets a text from Soo Ho to meet him on the rooftop. Bo Nui gets there and is amazed and happy to see that Soo Ho has rigged it with lights so it looks like something straight out of a fairytale. He tells her that someone once said that stars give good luck but he’d rather be the one who gives her good luck and who will protect her. Bo Nui’s so touched that she starts to cry happy tears as she states that she’s happy that she’s alive and happy that she made the right decision to give life a chance. At the words, Soo Ho pulls her into a hug.
7. Everything goes to hell (and it’s all Dae Hae’s fault!)
Morning brings with it the launch of “IF” and the Zeze staff are delighted that 10,000 people connected off the bat to download and play the game and Soo Ho is even alright with granting an interview to a news reporter who Ryang Ha brings in to interview Soo Ho on “IF”. Soo Ho is graceful and attributes the success to the dedication of the staff. He even brings in Bo Nui and introduces her as the one who came up with the game idea (awwww). Meanwhile, upon download, “IF” encrypts itself and locks the computer of everyone who’s downloaded it (shit. Shit. Shit!). Soo Ho pushes through the crowd to get to the Zeze office where he sets out to try decrypting the virus. He’s so focused on it that he doesn’t even notice Bo Nui’s horrified expression when she accidentally knocks over her cactus plant (please Bo Nui. Don’t tell me that you’ll now convince yourself that you’re to blame. This isn’t on you. Blame Dae Hae). Even as the Zeze workers try to deal with it all, Soo Ho comes into inform them that the hackers have demanded 5 million dollars (wow!), and that he has to figure out the code in two days if they intend to get out of the mess they’re in.
8. When it rains, it pours
But Soo Ho isn’t able to figure out the code and eventually realizes that the hack must have been done in person and not online. Ryang Ha, who’s thought ahead, calls the cops who pull up the security camera feed and show them the video of dumb as bricks Dae Hae bringing the hacker into the office himself. To make it even more damning, Bo Nui learns that Dae Hae quit after declaring that he’s won the jackpot. Up on the Zeze roof, Bo Nui remembers the shaman’s warnings to her to be extra careful and to not assume that her bad luck is all gone. Before she can dwell on the thought however, Soo Ho walks up to her to ask her if she’s feeling anxious again. When Bo Nui shakes her head, he pulls her into a hug and tells her that it’s not her fault (exactly. Not your fault. Listen to your boyfriend Bo Nui). Back in the office though, Soo Ho’s slumped in defeat because he can’t crack the password and even Ryang Ha starts to panic as he realizes that if Soo Ho the genius can’t crack it, then no one in Korea can. They then head into the shareholder’s meeting and even as Ryang Ha is begging Soo Ho to let go of “IF” and Soo Ho is stating that all they have to do is find the money needed to solve the situation, Seol Hee and Gun Wook come with even more depressing news that IM sports has decided to sure Zeze (shit). Gun Wook offers to help but Soo Ho states that he will handle it himself and heads into the board meeting. The board meeting has everyone blaming Soo Ho and Soo Ho offers to take responsibility by resigning and giving up all his assets and everything he owns to pay for the damages (double shit).
9. Soo Ho’s an awesome PERSON. Period
Out from the boardroom, Soo Ho spots Bo Nui and breaks out into a relieved smile. They go to a park and when he notices Bo Nui’s expression, he pulls her into a hug as he tells her not that she mustn’t worry (awww. Soo Ho) or have any doubts. He tells her to believe in him and Bo Nui breaks out into a smile. At Zeze, Soo Ho clears his desk and breaks the news to his staff that he’s resigned and given away everything. They’re shocked and beg him to stay as they’re nothing without him but Soo Ho reminds them that they are Zeze factory and they’re the ones who actually built the company. He tells them that he’s sure they would do great with “IF” and with that he leaves. Bo Nui who’s unaware of all that’s happening meets with Soo Ho’s mother who tells her that she went to meet the shaman who blamed it all on the raccoon. The words clearly get to Bo Nui and she’s even more affected when Dal Nim calls her to tell her about the news of Soo Ho resigning and giving everything away.
10. Bo Nui once again turns to her superstition
Bo Nui heads straight to the shaman who tells her that she should have only spent a night with Soo Ho and then walked away (dude. Shut the fuck up. Fake ass shaman). Bo Nui begs him to tell her that she isn’t the one to blame (seriously though Bo Nui. I can tell you this for free. YOU ARE NOT TO BLAME. Looking for the guilty person? It’s Dae Hae with his bald ass head who is at the moment MIA and not feeling an ounce of the guilt you’re presently feeling). The shaman is of the opinion that if she only came to hear what she wants to hear, then she should get out and when Bo Nui insists that it can’t be her fault because Bo Ra’s awake now and everything’s fine, the shaman realizes that she’s in love with Soo Ho. The next thing we see, Bo Nui’s walking out dazed and Soo Ho calls her, happy and delighted to inform her that he’s now unemployed. When she reminds him that Zeze was his everything, he corrects her that she is his everything now and asks to meet. As Bo Nui waits for him, she does the he loves me, he loves me not leaf pluck but this time around turns it into a “it’s okay, it’s not okay” line. And as the final leaf turns out to be an “it’s not okay” leaf, Soo Ho calls her name and Bo Nui tearfully looks at him (oh crap. Please tell me it’s not an impending breakup. Shit!). The truth or dare scene however picks up from when the Shaman had asked Bo Nui if she’s in love with Soo Ho with a this is so bad look on his face. Bo Nui tells him that she wouldn’t be changing her mind no matter what he says. The Shaman though strikes hard by stating that Soo Ho will lose everything from his wealth to his fame to even his body, all because of Bo Nui’s bad luck (Mr. Shaman sir, I have a word for you. Actually, it’s two words: FUCK YOU!).
Character I wanted to bitchslap:
Because Dae Hae is back to being an idiot who can’t control his mouth or keep a secret. You know, for someone who works in the IT field, for him not to realize the need for discretion and for him not to be aware that such a highly anticipated game like “IF” would be the target of saboteurs, it speaks of his high level of stupidity. Bitchslapping is the only thing that can make it right because this MORON was the one that caused it all. Urgh!
Headache inducing moment:
Because that idiot Dae Hae decided to leave a visitor alone in the control room, unsupervised, just one day to the launch of the “IF” game. The absolute moronity of this moment is migraine inducing.
This episode’s a double shot of tequila, hard and burning and leaving you with a migraine to beat all migraines because people are stupid, that shaman has to be a fraud and holy shit, Bo Nui is back to square one.
