The right choices can end up leading to the happiest ending and the best possible future. Do Kyung keeps making the right choices and they finally pay off. Jin Sang and Soo Kyung get together and Do Kyung tells Hae Young the entire truth. Tae Jin’s eyes are opened to the truth and we can all breathe a partial sigh of relief.
Top 10 Moments:
- Post love declaration
Hae Young’s delighted after Do Kyung says the magic words and replies by telling him that it took him long enough. Do Kyung though just smiles, then asks her if she’s not supposed to respond in a certain way (hahahah. He wants you to say I love you too Hae Young). Hae Young being Hae Young, decides to scream the words aloud, thus embarrassing Do Kyung who tells her that it’s enough (hahaha. Well, you did kind of say you wanted her to tell you that she loves you, Do Kyung). Hae Young doesn’t stop though and even goes as far as screaming it from the bus window, making Do Kyung rush to sit at the back of the bus where he’s far away from her (hahaha. I repeat Do Kyung, you asked for it). He’s not alone for long though because Hae Young soon joins him and then they’re smiling and holding hands (Gah! You two are so cute). In front of her house, Hae Young doesn’t want to let Do Kyung go and takes to kissing his hands one by one, unaware that her mother’s looking at her like she’s lost her damn mind. When Hae Young suggests that she spend the night at Do Kyung’s, Mama Oh makes a sound, thus alerting the two lovebirds to her presence. Hae Young pushes Do Kyung to leave, but Do Kyung, being his adorable self, takes the time to do a full waist bow to her parents. And he does it twice (hahahaha). Hae Young though slips into the house without saying a word. Mama Oh is as expected pissed and turns to doing the dishes whilst Papa Oh points out that Hae Young is 32 years old. Mama Oh snaps back that she’s still a woman, regardless and calls her the world’s biggest idiot. When Papa Oh reminds her that Mama Oh used to do the same (hahaha. Lovesick Mama Oh? Wish I could see that), Mama Oh repeats that that’s why Hae Young’s the biggest idiot. Do Kyung meanwhile is on a bus, on his way back home and says thank you (to the universe? To life for bringing him Hae Young?). Morning has Hae Young waking up with bed hair. But as she looks at herself in the mirror, she smiles and says love’s made her prettier (hahahaha). Love however isn’t enough to help her make it to the bus-stop on time and she misses her bus. But love is enough for her not to care that she’s going to be yelled at. Do Kyung meanwhile is dealing with Jin Sang who slept in his office the previous night and didn’t go home because of the myriad of women who come to visit him. Do Kyung then suggests that they go to the sauna, like the good friend he is and even gently strokes the back of Jin Sang’s head when Jin Sang asks for a compliment to help him deal (hahaha. Jin Sang looks like a puppy just standing there and being stroked). It’s comforting but doesn’t do as much for Jin Sang who explains that he feels tired and can’t play because he feels like the word bastard is written on his forehead and on his heart. Do Kyung asks him why he then left the house and Jin Sang admits to Soo Kyung being the one to kick him out and with the command to not look back. He admits that he’d planned on marrying Soo Kyung but she’d caught him smoking and had told him that he doesn’t need to force himself to handle it. Thinking of how embarrassed and sorry he feels, Jin Sang asks Do Kyung for a hug and Do Kyung obliges him.
2. Do Kyung’s mother’s mummy senses are tingling
Soo Kyung’s doing yoga in her office as she talks to her baby not to worry about not having a father because the baby has a mother like a father and an uncle like a father, and if that’s not enough, she will search through all the men in the world to find a suitable father. A knock on the door has her going through a quick transformation from a yoga practitioner to a working professional (Wow Soo Kyung. That was fast). Do Kyung on the hand is back at work making sounds for a movie (wait what? I thought the entire place had been repo’d? Did someone pay?) whilst Hoon does damage control to a client on the phone to whom he explains that they’re not out of business and would inform him when they’ve moved to a new place. Do Kyung is surprised but Hoon tells him that two of the sound crew members are presently searching for a new office space, preferably something cheap and located in a basement. He tosses it in that the employees have no plans of moving to another company (you go Hoon and sound crew guys. Just because Do Kyung is all focused on himself being punished doesn’t mean you can’t put your foot down and insist on working with him). Whilst the second sound crew guy pipes in that he’s sure the company will soon be re-established, what with the way Do Kyung is in such high demand. Do Kyung’s mother interrupts the sweet moment by calling Do Kyung out and telling him to go apologize to Chairman Jung (aha. So that’s the part of his vision. Although the location’s changed. Looks like him living fearlessly is causing great ripples and everything’s changing. Dare we hope he’ll survive? I pray so). Do Kyung replies that it won’t change anything, to which his mother tells him to let Hae Young go then, as that would put an end to it all (woman, with all Do Kyung did to end up with the girl, you must have smoked something to believe that he’s letting her go). Do Kyung refuses to do so and his mother shouts as she wonders if maybe he’s doing it to punish her, forcing her to see that it’s because of her that he’s gone bankrupt. Do Kyung simply replies that everything’s his fault, not hers, and then he walks away. Worried, his mother calls Soo Kyung to ask if maybe Do Kyung has some health issues because he’s acting really weird. She tells Soo Kyung that she thinks there’s something wrong with him (well would you look at that? Do Kyung’s mum’s mommy senses are tingling. Who would have thought?). She cries that he won’t get angry at her and she wants Soo Kyung to look into it because she’s sure there’s something wrong with Do Kyung.
3. Dinner with the Parks
Unaware that there is something going on with her boyfriend, Hae Young takes to talking to the flowers Do Kyung had gotten her, till she gets a call from Do Kyung himself who suggests that they have dinner with Soo Kyung. Soon, all the Parks and Hae Young are at the Park house with Do Kyung cautioning Hoon not to call Tae Jin Hae Young’s boyfriend because he is Hae Young’s boyfriend and to not say anything about Tae Jin ruining their studio. They all get to preparing dinner and Hae Young offers Soo Kyung precut melons, saying that Do Kyung had told her that Soo Kyung likes them. Soo Kyung then warns Hae Young to never tell Do Kyung if she likes anything because he will spend the rest of his days buying her the item. She explains that when she’d been 14, she’d mentioned to Do Kyung that she likes melons after having then once and ever since, it’s the only thing Do Kyung buys for her (awww. That’s cute though). They all laugh at the memory and Soo Kyung turns serious as she asks Soo Kyung to shower Do Kyung with lots of love because he’s pitiful. Hae Young, being Hae Young, asks if she should just take him and raise him (hahahaha. He’s not a pet Hae Young, plus. doesn’t that connote marriage?). It shocks everyone and when she tries to pass it off as a joke, Soo Kyung insists that that’s exactly what she wants, for Hae Young to raise Do Kyung and overwhelm him with love. Hae Young insists that she will unless she dies first from her heart fluttering so much. When Soo Kyung is amazed at how much Hae Young must like Do Kyung, Hae Young admits that she likes him so much, she’s willing to go bungee jumping without a harness (huh… You know that’s basically suicide right?). When everyone stares at her, she makes it worse by saying that she wants to do that together with Do Kyung (so couple suicide?). Hoon speaks for everyone and calls her just a little bit crazy (hahaha. I’m with you on that buddy). When Hae Young asks about Jin Sang, Soo Kyung admits to him not coming back again and Hoon assumes that Jin Sang ran away. Hae Young’s curious about what Jin Sang did but Do Kyung stalls her by telling her that he will tell her the details later. In his studio, he asks her what she wants to listen to and she suggests they sing and record the Daydream song that his father had recorded him singing when Do Kyung was six years old. Do Kyung is at first hesitant, but Hae Young wraps him in a back hug and states that it would be the voice of the man she loves the most, recorded at the moment when she loves him the most (Awwww. That’s sweet). Do Kyung doesn’t respond at first and instead snaps on a bracelet he’d bought for her, onto Hae Young’s wrist (Hahaha. Hae Young not knowing that it’s a bracelet and asking if it’s a pair of handcuffs and she didn’t know Do Kyung’s into such kinky stuff is classic. Just classic). When Hae Young sees the bracelet, she’s shocked and wonders if she’s going to die, because Do Kyung is being so nice to her. When she tells him that she’s happy but anxious, Do Kyung suggests that she just be happy. And just like that, Hae Young is.
4. Hoon destroys Jin Sang’s party-boy reputation
Jin Sang back at the club, having fun and partying it up. When he and his club friends settle down for a drink, one of them asks him if he’s trying to have all the fun at once because he’s going just a bit overboard whilst one of the girls asks him why they haven’t seen him in a while. Jin Sang replies that he’s been a bit busy, but tells them that now, he’s going to have fun without feeling guilty and party every day and every night. He’s snuggling on a couch with a girl when Hoon spots him. Immediately, Hoon calls him brother-in-law in a very loud voice (hahaha) and tells him not to live the way he’s doing and think about the kid (hahaha). The minute Hoon asks what Soo Kyung’s done to deserve the treatment, Jin Sang chases after him. When he thinks Hoon has ran off, he goes back to join the party, explaining that Hoon’s his friend’s younger brother who is just messing with him. Except, Hoon comes right back in and calls him brother-in-law, telling him that they should go home together (hahahaha. Talk about ruining his a-game Hoon) because even if Soo Kyung has let him go, he shouldn’t do what he’s doing to her. He takes off the minute he sees that Jin Sang’s about to give chase and soon both of them are running with Jin Sang screaming at Hoon that he would kill him if he catches him. When they’re both exhausted, they come to a stop and Hoon yells that a married life without love isn’t necessarily bad. When Jin Sang shouts at him to get lost, Hoon screams that Soo Kyung still loves Jin Sang and wonders how Jin Sang can know nothing about women. Jin Sang screams right back that he doesn’t know and makes to walk away, only to rush to catch Hoon who he then starts to fight with, all the whilst Hoon is screaming as he asks why Jin Sang can’t admit that it’s his baby. Finally exhausted, they lay on the ground with Hoon asking what’s wrong with his family: his brother’s filed for bankruptcy, and his brother-in-law’s left the house. Jin Sang returns back to the club, complaining to his club friends about Hoon and his habit of following him around. Just as he’s about to join the others on the dance floor, he notices the fruit platter one of the waiters had brought to their table and sees the precut melons. Thinking of Soo Kyung and her love for melons, he walks away from the club looking sad.
5. Do Kyung saves Tae Jin’s life
After dropping Hae Young off at her parents’ place, Do Kyung heads home and on his way, sees a throughly drunk Tae Jin, falling and muttering to himself that Hae Young hurt him. Do Kyung makes to drive off but then changes his mind and makes the choice to turn the car around and go back for Tae Jin. When he gets to the spot where he’d seen Tae Jin however, Tae Jin is no longer there. Looking around, Do Kyung finally spots Tae Jin at the top of a bridge drunk and practically tilting off the railings as he walks. When Tae Jin actually steps on the railing, and tilts some more, looking like he’s about to fall off, Do Kyung flashes to his vision of Tae Jin hitting him with a car. As Tae Jin tilts even further back, with tears streaming down his face, looking as if he’s about to fall, he’s rescued just in time by Do Kyung who pulls him back from the edge of the railings and pulls him to safety. Tae Jin falls to the ground, unaware of who it was that saved him and can only stare at the man’s shoes. Do Kyung walks away and as he leaves, he tells himself that should he look back on that moment if he ends up dying, he still won’t regret the act (awww. You really are living your life without fear and I’m so proud of you Do Kyung. So proud).
6. Other Hae Young steps into the situation
Chairman Jang is having lunch, muttering about how everyone who comes to his house is always asking for a favor or asking for something. As he says this, we see other Hae Young on her knees with tearful eyes. Chairman Jang tells other Hae Young that he used to like her because she never asked him for anything and now she’s letting him down. Other Hae Young pleads with him that everything started because of her and she can’t let Do Kyung go if his life crumbles because of her. She tells Chairman Jang that she wants to forget Do Kyung even if this is what she must do to achieve that. She asks him to help and Chairman Jang slams his hands on the table, then shouts at his maids that they’re trying to starve him by serving him vegetables, all the while telling other Hae Young that she should leave. Other Hae Young walks out of the house and runs into Tae Jin on the way. Tae Jin makes to walk past her but she stops him by asking him if he doesn’t think he’s being a little bit childish by forming a team against Do Kyung and Hae Young. Tae Jin replies that she should be honest and admit that she wants the two of them to break up as well. Other Hae Young answers that perhaps that is true, but she hasn’t looked that deeply into her heart because she doesn’t want to look into it so as not to feel that way. Instead, she tells herself that she genuinely wants them both to be happy, before the resentment can have a chance to build inside her. Tae Jin replies that she’s hard on herself, and he understands because that’s how he used to feel a couple of days prior as well and he used to feel bad about all the mean things he was doing to Do Kyung. He states that he then figured out why he was feeling so bad. It was because he was half nice and half mean because he kept telling himself that he’s not a mean person and so he should bow out now. But, he knows that the people he hates the most in the world are those that are half nice and half mean and half rude. He advises her not to grudgingly do something she doesn’t want to do and says she should follow her heart and just wish for Hae Young and Do Kyung to break up because that would be so much cooler. After he’s done, he makes to head inside but Hae Young stops him by saying she can now see why, from talking to him. She tells him that people say you truly get to know someone when you break up with them and after she broke up with Do Kyung she saw how great a person he is and felt sad about their break up. She then adds that she’s sure that Hae Young won’t be as sad about her breakup as other Hae Young was about hers because Tae Jin comes up very short against Do Kyung (ouch. Burn). And with those words, she gets into her car and drives off whilst Tae Jin heads in to see Chairman Jang.
7. Soo Kyung and Jin Sang make up and make out and Do Kyung continues to see visions of his death
Soo Kyung’s at work and on her way to see a prototype with her colleagues when Jin Sang’s voice, calling her Madam Soo Kyung rings out loudly in the hall. Soo Kyung ignores him and keeps walking and Jin Sang runs to her to ask why she won’t pick up his calls, to which Soo Kyung just replies by telling him to leave. He then switches to talking in French, pointing out that she’s a pregnant woman who’s wearing heels, to which Soo Kyung replies right back that he hasn’t done anything to make her into a 42 year old pregnant woman. When Jin Sang points out that technically he has, Soo Kyung calls him a crazy bastard. Jin Sang then switches back to Korean, asking her why she didn’t pick up his calls when he probably called her about a thousand times. Soo Kyung replies that she doesn’t need to pick his calls to which Jin Sang replies that he thought they would still be like brother and sister with Soo Kyung kicking him out of the house and all. When Soo Kyung calls that ridiculous and impossible, Jin Sang calls her uncool. Soo Kyung tells him to screw being cool and switches back to French, asking who in their right mind would sleep with a man, get pregnant and still maintain a brother-sister relationship with him. The sleazy director who’s always hitting on other Hae Young whilst insulting Hae Young asks Hae Young’s team manager who is with them as well, if he understands what Soo Kyung and Jin Sang are saying, seeing that the man majored in French in school. The man responds that he has no idea what is being said whilst Soo Kyung storms away from Jin Sang. The others follow her whilst Jin Sang calls out to her, asking if she doesn’t want them to be friends either. When she doesn’t respond, he shouts that fine, they won’t be friends nor would they see each other anymore, and Soo Kyung should make sure not to regret her decision. Soo Kyung simply hurries into the elevator and her colleagues pile in with her. The elevator doors are just about to close when Jin Sang stops them by sticking his hand in and tells Soo Kyung that they should give the kissing another try. Hae Young’s manager exclaims that he knows that word and pushes the other workers out of the elevator to give Soo Kyung and Jin Sang their privacy. Except, when he tells the others that the word meant that Jin Sang was asking that Soo Kyung kiss him, everyone’s curious and they press the open button several times over to give themselves the opportunity to see Jin Sang and Soo Kyung practically kissing out each other’s tonsils (hahahaha. But damn these two can go at it). On the other side of the company however, Hae Young is thanking other Hae Young for going to visit Chairman Jang to beg him. Other Hae Young is just pleased that Hae Young asked her to help out. Meanwhile, Do Kyung is at the studio were he’s seeing in rapid succession, visions of him running as Tae Jin chases him with a car. He sees them so much that he runs to Doc who goes to meet his Sunbae and ask the man to put Do Kyung under hypnosis because Do Kyung keeps seeing things and it seems like something’s going to happen. Even as Doc tells his Sunbae that they can’t just sit by and do nothing, Do Kyung has yet another vision of himself bleeding from the head after he’s been hit. He lays prone on the ground and admires the white flowers falling from the sky; flowers that his dying self wonders if they’re cherry blossoms, even as he sees news on a projected screen thatsays that the singer Lee Byung Joon is dead. He also sees another billboard that says big sale in June 2016 and comes out of the hypnosis. As he walks out of the building, Doc asks him if he’s sure that the date said June 2016 because it doesn’t make sense for cherry blossoms to be out by that season. He suggests that Do Kyung run overseas as he’s sure Tae Jin won’t come overseas to come kill him. Do Kyung however isn’t up for that plan as he gets into his car and drives off, telling himself that he has to tell Hae Young before it’s too late (Yes Do Kyung. Tell her. Hurry).
8. Do Kyung tells Hae Young everything and Mama Oh accepts Do Kyung
Hae Young receives a message from Do Kyung asking her to come out and that he will bring her back home before the sun rises. She’s delighted and rushes out to meet him, and soon, they’re at Do Kyung’s house, where Hae Young tells him that he’s the second man to call her out at night, the first being a senior when she was in college (hahahaha. Do Kyung’s jealous face is classic). She goes on to describe this college senior who liked her immediately he saw her at her orientation and who even remembered when he met her for the seventh time, and then she starts to list out the different times she’d met with the guy. Do Kyung interrupts to ask her if she remembers the first time they’d met. When Hae Young points out the day he’d made her nose bleed at the cafe where she was meant to have met Hee Ran, Do Kyung answers that they’d met before then, on a street in front of a post office. She’d passed by him, turned around to look at him and kept on walking. Hae Young smiles as she remembers going to the place and assumes that Do Kyung had seen her then, fallen in love at first sight and remembered her ever since. Do Kyung corrects her that he knew her even before then. He continues that her face kept popping into his head even before they’d met, and then he saw her at the street and at the cafe. Hae Young smiles as she wonders how she would have popped into his head when they’d never met and Do Kyung replies that it was like a memory and that he even saw her move into the room next door before she actually moved in. He continues that he didn’t see anything else. Just her. He tells her that at first, he’d thought he was seeing the future or that he had some kind of superpower, but he eventually figured out what it was he was seeing and why he was seeing her: it was because in the future, when he lays dying, it’s what he’ll think about with his last breath. She’s all he’ll be thinking about, when he’s dying in the future. He continues that he missed her so much that those feelings travelled through time and that his doctor confirmed it. He tells her that his memory of when he’s dying shows that they never got back together, but instead went their separate ways and she moved out of the apartment. He explains that his dying self wondered why he’d been so anxious about petty things then and why he’d told her the opposite of what he truly felt instead of just speaking his heart to her. And as he lay there, he wondered what it was that he truly wanted to say, and we see in flashbacks all those instances when Do Kyung had consciously said something different from what the him in his vision had said and he tells Hae Young that’s how they’d gotten back together. He continues that he’d never let himself feel things, not even once and he was shocked, wondering if it was okay for a woman to be so forward. But he liked it and was touched and believed that he would be sad if he didn’t give himself the chance to experience a love like that before he died. And now when he dies, he won’t regret anything. He ends it by telling her thank you, and Hae Young smiles. She doesn’t actually believe him though as she calls it a very cool story and figures that he probably didn’t get married if she was the only person he was thinking about. Do Kyung smiles and Hae Young’s delighted that he couldn’t get over her. She asks him if she should believe this story that he called her out in the middle of the night to tell her and asks him if it’s true. When Do Kyung answers that it is, she nods and says she will believe it then (I still don’t think you believe believe it Hae Young. Just saying). Do Kyung smiles and joins her on the bed where they snuggle and she tells him that she now keeps a diary because she’s so happy that she’s crazily in love with the man she’s in love with and so must document it because every day, she’s filled with love. She adds that she’d still be happy should she die that day because she loves every day. Do Kyung thanks her and Hae Young thanks him right back and then the two of them kiss over and over and over again. The next morning, Hae Young tries to creep back into the house but is busted by her mother who tells her to just invite Do Kyung in for breakfast (Yay progress). Hae Young’s surprised, but does just that and soon Do Kyung is eating breakfast with the family and Mama Oh wonders what kind of fate theirs is, as she puts a piece of cooked meat on Do Kyung’s food (awwww. Mama Oh. My heart). Everyone’s surprised and Do Kyung looks touched, whilst Papa Oh gives a tiny smile and pushes the soup towards Do Kyung, gesturing at him to eat up (this family’s the best).
9. Tae Jin finally learns the truth
Tae Jin’s drives his shady business partner to the airport and the guy complains about having to see the Chinese business partners personally instead of sending documents. He glances at the guy and his eyes wander down to the guy’s shoes which suddenly strikes him as the same pair of shoes that had been at the entrance into Chairman Jang’s house (wait so the guy only has one pair of shoes?). He stares suspiciously at shady business partner and studies the man’s phone, before asking him why he’s checking for the weather on the west sea when he’s getting on a plane. Shady business partner though, doesn’t say anything. Tae Jin gets back to the office and is surprised to see a seizure being carried out. When he asks one of the business associate what’s going on, the man replies that shady business partner took everything they had and fled. The man then admits that shady business partner had ripped Tae Jin off as well, explaining that back when Tae Jin had been working on foreign markets while overseas, he’d faked their sales and received investments from various places which was what Chairman Jang had noticed and why the chairman had pulled out his investment. The associate finishes by saying that shady business partner hadn’t wanted Tae Jin to find out and had therefore gotten Tae Jin kicked out of the company. The truth hits Tae Jin hard and he goes straight to Chairman Jang’s house. Chairman Jang though is conveniently sick and refuses to see him. As for shady business partner, his number stops going through. He finally heads to the port, looking for shady business partner. He spots the guy, with bags in hand, ready to flee and chases him down. When he mentions that he’d thought their products were doing well, shady business partner scoffs as he says their products would never have done well and all he was concerned about was grabbing the money and running away. When Tae Jin starts hitting him, he smiles and when Tae Jin accuses him of being the one that had the other directors sue him, shady business partner screams that Tae Jin should have just stepped down as CEO. When Tae Jin wonders how it’s possible that he would step down when even the business is named after him, shady business partner calls him slow and drops yet another bomb: Tae Jin is nothing more than Chairman Jang’s errand boy who Chairman Jang is using to get back at Do Kyung, thus turning both Tae Jin and Do Kyung into chess pieces. Shady business partner smiles as he says that at least Do Kyung won in love, whilst Tae Jin’s a loser. Tae Jin, enraged proceeds to beat the ever living crap out of shady business partner.
10. Do Kyung survives
Do Kyung calls Hae Young and invites her to come out with him. She agrees with a smile and heads out to make copies of a document when she flashes to all the instances in the past when it had seem like Do Kyung had known what was happening with her even before they had happened. She also remembers Do Kyung furiously asking her why her face keeps popping up in his head. When she remembers Do Kyung telling her that he had his reasons for not coming to the wedding and making references to staying by her side until he dies, she holds herself as everything sinks in. At that same instance, she gets a message from Tae Jin telling her that he won’t ask her to forgive him and that he’s sorry. And then we see petals floating to the ground (no.no.no. This isn’t good. This isn’t good at all). Do Kyung steps out of his office and sees Tae Jin waiting and looking at him from behind the wheels of Tae Jin’s car (I think I’ve stopped breathing). At the same moment, Hae Young is running, telling herself that it can’t be, it won’t be. Tae Jin’s eyes are fixated on Do Kyung and as Do Kyung nods at him, Tae Jin remembers Hae Young telling him that she fell for Do Kyung first and begged Do Kyung to love her back. He remembers Hae Young begging him to please stop hitting Do Kyung (and you think killing him is better?), his partner laughing at him as he tells him that Do Kyung scored at love at least and other Hae Young telling him that he’s no match for Do Kyung. Do Kyung, recognizing the look in Tae Jin’s eyes pulls out his phone and calls Hae Young, telling her that he recorded a song for her and that they will not be able to take a picture together but he loves her. With that done, he drops his bag and takes off running at the same time Tae Jin floors his engine and takes off after him. As Do Kyung runs, we see Hae Young also running, as we hear the song Do Kyung had recorded playing and we also cut to someone’s hands shaking (I think the person’s hanging himself) and a framed picture of the musician that had been the guest presenter on the radio show Hae Young had called in to share her life’s story. Do Kyung finally stops running and turns around to meet Tae Jin’s fast approaching vehicle, whilst we cut to Doc’s sunbae rescuing the man that had tried hanging himself. We then cut back to Tae Jin’s speeding car which suddenly comes to a stop (damn, my breath just whooshed out of me) and Tae Jin steps out of it with tears in his eyes. He looks at Do Kyung, then looks down at Do Kyung’s shoes which he remembers as the shoes worn by the man who’d saved him on the bridge (So two things we learn. The right choices can make the person who hates you enough to want you dead, change his mind about killing you. And also, always wear the same pair of shoes. Got it). He calls Do Kyung bastard without the usual heat or hatred, gets back into his car and drives off. Do Kyung bends over as he sighs in relief (we’re right there with you Do Kyung) and then he goes walking on the bridge and sees Hae Young who had been running to meet him. They’re both tearful and run into each other arms, both relieved that Do Kyung is alive and well. They cry and kiss and hold onto each other and in the background, we see a billboard announcing that Lee Byung Joon who had initially died in the vision has merely cancelled his concert (that is because Lee Byung Joon is the one Doc’s sunbae had saved from his attempted suicide). And thus, two lives were saved that night (three if we count Tae Jin’s. And can I say, thank you Tae Jin for pulling yourself back from the brink. Thank you).
Character I wanted to bitchslap:
No one at all. This episode was too intense and everyone carried out their purpose without being annoying. I would have said shady business partner but he’s small fry plus, Tae Jin pummeled him good, so I’m good.
Headache inducing moment:
Because my heart was beating as rapidly as Hae Young’s and Do Kyung’s and I hadto remind myself to breathe. Gosh, all that premonitions and Tae Jin’s message and the flowers was just too much. Too damn much.
This episode’s a Paloma. Delicious with all the romance of Do Kyung and Hae Young reminding us just how filled we are with happy emotions when our leads can convince us that they’re truly in love. But it’s tart and taunt with tension that has us releasing it all in one whoosh of a breath, just like Do Kyung. Honestly though, I’ll be really sad to see Another Oh Hae Young go.
