Sometimes, letting go of love might be just what is needed to either fall for a new love or be reunited with an old love. Ji Nu leaves to start afresh. Mango Entertainment and Ddanddara taste success. Seok Ho is still his awesome, forgiving self. Ha Nuel finds love and Yeon Soo proclaims his love and we are all happy at how entertaining Entertainer was.
Top 10 Moments:
- Ji Nu confesses to the world and Ha Nuel clears the air
Whilst Ddanddara is still at their vacation spot, and Seok Ho realizes with every instance that Ha Nuel jumps in to help Geu Rin, just how much Ha Nuel likes Geu Rin, CEO Byun calls everyone’s attention to the fact that Ji Nu is trending again. A quick search has them reading Ji Nu’s writeup where he confesses to having stolen “Don’t Touch” and had gained the courage to confess from watching Choi Joon Ha’s concert. Seok Ho is as expected worried and immediately calls Ji Nu who had finished his writeup by apologizing to his fans and informing them that he would be leaving the country for a while to go study music, to return when it’s all in the past and to go back on stage when his fans are willing to accept him. Seok Ho is upset that Ji Nu kept him in the dark and is already at the airport, prepared to leave unannounced. Ji Nu teases that he had been sure Seok Ho would have sent him crying (hahaha. But true), and Seok Ho tells him to stay in touch. Ji Nu, barely keeping himself from crying, thanks Seok Ho for everything he’s done for him (awwwww) and says he would probably miss Seok Ho the most . Except, Ji Nu can’t keep the tears away when he gets to the boarding area and sees a sea of his fans, cheering him on and holding placards screaming that they would miss him and he should return soon (awwww Ji Nu). Meanwhile, at the retreat, Ha Nuel confesses to Geu Rin that she’d been his first love and he’d been delighted when she’d refused to be adopted by his parents. He continues before Geu Rin can interrupt though that he is also thrilled for her and her first love: Shin Seok Ho because Seok Ho is a great guy (we agree with you there Ha Nuel). Soon, both of them are teasing each other as to who has helped the other more, just like true siblings (Awww. Now can someone go tell Seok Ho this before he begins his path of noble idiocy?)
2. Joon Suk loses KTOP
Not only are the singers pulling out of KTOP, awards coordinators are also dropping Joon Suk’s name from the pile of awards they usually give him as a sort of kudos for being the CEO of one of the top music company’s in the country. And then to make it all worse, Joon Suk has a meeting with the CEO of Wild Company who basically informs him that KTOP is going down, but the artists signed to the label are willing to stay on as long as Joon Suk is not the CEO. And thus, the Wild Company CEO has an offer for Joon Suk: let KTOP merge with Wild Company and Joon Suk should step down as CEO and hand over his shares as that would give Joon Suk the chance to open a small store and feed his family from the profits at the store (hahaha. That’s gotta burn). And sure enough, we see Joon Suk taking down the sign that has him as the KTOP CEO and walking out of the company (not sure anyone would miss you Joon Suk. Good riddance to bad rubbish).
3. A lot of things change in a year
We fast forward to a year later (still have no idea why they tagged that on though? Maybe to show that it took time for our boys to move to the top) and now Ddanddara is topping the charts for the fourth consecutive week and Seok Ho is looking most past Seok Ho like at the announcement (i.e. like it is to be expected that Ddanddara is just that good. Hehehe). The boys have a new single out and a rapid slew of fangirls chasing them around with placards even as they run and laugh. Meanwhile, at the Mango office, Mango has grown so much that now Min Joo and CEO Byun argue about the name for the company as well as who would be the new CEO. CEO Byun’s suggestion? That they be co-CEO’s; a suggestion that Min Joo eventually agrees on. Although they’re back to disagreeing when Min Joo introduces the new member of staff she wants to hire to handle their girl group (wow. You guys are growing quickly aren’t you?), but the man sets out to calming CEO Byun’s ruffled feathers by complimenting him. Ha Nuel is though is meeting with a drama PD and writer who are offering him the role of a character with an unrequited love, which he accepts with a smile, and Seok Ho is chasing down Kyle and Man Shik who are boogying it down at a club instead of Kyle being asleep in his bed in the dorm. The two of them try to escape of course, but no one runs away from Seok Ho (hahahaha).
4. Geu Rin is back in school but lonely
Whilst Seok Ho is managing the rowdy boys, Geu Rin has returned to the university to get her degree, although she’s more of the outcast looking in as her classmates don’s involve her in the social gatherings and arrangements. She finally makes her way to the library which she finds the novel titled Daddy Long Legs. Most likely thinking of her daddy long legs, Geu Rin heads straight to the Mango Office where Seok Ho is coordinating with his assistant about a trip yet another girl band with their label is going on, and then turns to reading Ha Nuel’s script. He can tell just from her steps that Geu Rin is around and mutters at her to stay in that school she loves so much and get her degree instead of coming to see him. When Geu Rin questions him about eating and then tries to draw out her visit with the different things she can eat, Seok Ho wouldn’t have the dillydallying so Geu Rin eventually presents the Daddy Long Legs book and tells Seok Ho to read the last page and then she leaves. Seok Ho turns to the last page after Geu Rin has gone and finds that she’d not only highlighted the part of the passage that says that the two belong together, but she’d also written that the two of them got together, got married and lived happily ever after (talk about a big clue to you Seok Ho). Geu Rin though, still looking for a way to help herself fit better in school takes the boys out for drinks, to butter them up so they’re more pliable when she makes her request that they should come visit her in her school, to help boost her popularity ratings (hahahaha. Geu Rin is using them). When they complain about her using them, Geu Rin feels no guilt as she tries to remind of them of all the ways she’s helped them, plus they should do it for her. Ha Nuel just smiles whilst everyone else grumbles. Their grumbling is cut short though when Seok Ho’s assistant comes to get them for a meeting with Seok Ho, leaving Geu Rin grumbling about bad timing (hahaha).
5. Jae Hoon is leaving Ddanddara
At the Mango office, Seok Ho informs everyone that they should all take a break in order to have more personal time. The words are especially for Yeon Soo who hasn’t been spending as much time as he should with Chan Hee because he’s always been on the move. Ha Nuel though is the only one would be busy working on his drama, and Seok Ho suggests that they take their time with working on their third album. He then drops the bomb that starting their third album, Jae Hoon won’t be with them anymore because Jae Hoon, feeling guilty that he hadn’t been able to keep his grades up like he’d promised his mother, has decided to go back to school and dedicate his time to fully getting his degree. The rest of the band is sad, but they respect his decision. Plus, they cheer up when Seok Ho gives them the happy news that they’d been nominated for the Asian Music Awards (awww. I like happy Ddanddara. You guys deserve every good thing you get).
6. Seok Ho helps out Lee Ji Young
After having read the script, Seok Ho approaches the movie director to ask who the female lead for the movie would be. The problem however is that every popular actress in Korea has turned down the role, claiming that it’s too risky and they don’t want to have anything to do with it, although the director is convinced that getting Ha Nuel to sign on would eventually convince the doubters to fall in line and have the actresses begging for the role. Seok Ho though has a different suggestion, stating that the director should cast someone who has had such a dangerous and risky life that she would be most suited to the role, someone that would bring method acting to the character. When the director asks who Seok Ho is suggesting, he says the name Lee Ji Young (wait what?! Why the fuck are you helping her Seok Ho?), saying that Ji Young would fit the part, plus her casting would also bring a whole lot of publicity. The director though seems to be buying Seok Ho’s idea, which is why Seok Ho calls Ji Young’s very grateful father to give him the news and ask him to get Ji Young to agree and not be scared of the opportunity. Ji Young is indeed scared, but when her father promises that he would stand beside her through it all, she smiles.
7. Ha Nuel shows up at Geu Rin’s school and meets a new love
Wearing a hat and a pair of shades, Ha Nuel shows up at Geu Rin’s school to help her out like she’d asked (awwww Geu Rin. He’s a great brother this one). He’s lost as to where to find the Veterinary Medicine department and whilst looking around, spots a very pretty girl walking towards him. Using his lack of direction as an in, he asks the girl for directions to the department. She gives him the directions, although Ha Nuel spends the whole time looking at her and not paying an ounce of attention to what she’s saying, and then she leaves a very dazed Ha Nuel behind. But just as Ha Nuel tries to piece together what she’d told him, she shows up at the car asking for a lift because where’s she headed is right beside the department he’s going to. Ha Nuel, delighted at his good fortune agrees. Of course the idiot doesn’t think to collect her number by the time she leaves (Seriously Ha Nuel, if this wasn’t dramaland where we all know you would most likely run into her again, I will be shaking my head at the loss of that opportunity). Ha Nuel therefore is waiting by the department when the students spill out at the end of the day, and has his disguise off so he’s readily recognizable when he honks to get Geu Rin’s attention. Everyone starts to talk and take pictures whilst Geu Rin runs to meet him with the most exaggerated greeting, letting everyone know and hear that she is Ha Nuel’s sister (hahahaha. Shameless Geu Rin. Shameless. Hahahaha). It of course works like magic and soon everyone is inviting Geu Rin to hang out with them whilst Ha Nuel laughs at the absurdity of it all (we’re over here laughing right along with you Ha Nuel. Geu Rin is shameless for sure).
8. Jae Hoon’s replacement is Ha Nuel’s crush
After Explaining to Geu Rin that the drummer that’s replacing Jae Hoon would be at the practice room that afternoon, and Kyle wants to intimidate the newbie, Geu Rin decides that she must be at Ddanddara’s practice that day. Sure enough, Kyle is going through the motions, preparing to put the newbie drummer in his place (why do I feel like it’s his way of saying no one can replace Jae Hoon for him, which awwwww). Except, the new drummer turns out to be a girl, and even better, the girl Ha Nuel has a crush on (See why I said dramaland would save your ass Ha Nuel. Meet your crush Ha Nuel). Man Shik and Kyle start to fawn over her, Ha Nuel looks at her lovestruck whilst Jae Hoon wonders if she’s off to snuff. Seok Ho tells Soo Yun to show them her skills and she wows them with her playing (personally, I think she’s just okay. What can I say? I’m still attached to Jae Hoon. Don’t go Jae Hoon!!!!). After her audition, Soo Yun thanks Ha Nuel who is surprised that she recognized him all along, to which she tells him that he can’t possibly hide his handsome face underneath a cap and sunglasses (I hear you sister. I hear you).
9. Yeon Soo confesses to Min Joo
Whilst everyone else is out celebrating their new drummer, Min Joo who remains in the Mango office looks just a bit wistful. She does cheer up though when Chan Hee comes running in, with Yeon Soo in tow, who brought food, drinks and himself as company for Min Joo. When Min Joo asks about the new drummer and if she’s really as pretty as everyone else says, Yeon Soo tells Min Joo that she is prettier. When Min Joo cautions him about saying such things to girls, and asks him if he likes anyone. Yeon Soo admits to liking her (wow! Fast and straight to the point. I like). Min Joo is as expected surprised at the admission and Yeon Soo continues that he doesn’t even know when he started to like her as he had first been drawn to her because he thought she was really cool. When Min Joo makes to speak, Yeon Soo tells her that someone once told him that once a person confesses his feelings to someone else, then onus then rests on the person confessed to. He tells her that although he’d always thought of himself as unworthy, it still doesn’t dispute the fact that he likes her. When Min Joo points to their nine years age difference, Yeon Soo tells her that he doesn’t care, plus she’s quite a catch, even if he isn’t. When Min Joo complains about now having to spend her nights thinking about it (Wow. You not shooting him down outright says that he has quite the chance. Good to know), Yeon Soo tells her not to think for too long, and then teases her about getting wrinkles (hahaha. Smooth dude. Smooth).
10. Happy endings galore
Joo Han decides to give up music and has instead opened a restaurant and the first thing he receives is a flower arrangement from Seok Ho on behalf of Ddanddara band wishing him success. Joo Han is touched and calls Seok Ho to say as much, to which Seok Ho wishes him all the best and tells him to make a lot of money. Next, Seok Ho pays a visit to Geu Rin’s school where she’s running into the rain because she doesn’t have an umbrella. Except Seok Ho pops out with the green umbrella in hand which he holds over both their heads (cute. I like the come around; and the way it’s now Seok Ho offering Geu Rin refuge. Really nice). Next the boys (Seok Ho inclusive) clean up real nice in tuxedos as they head to the Awards ceremony. Ddanddara walks the red carpet but stop just as they get half way through and motion for a reluctant Seok Ho to join them (Awwww. How sweet). When Seok Ho joins, grumbling as he calls them idiots, Ha Nuel corrects him that they’re Ddanddara and then all five of them walk the carpet together (awwww. So sweet).
Character I wanted to bitchslap:
With how saccharine sweet this episode was and how much I grinned from ear to ear, no one of course.
Headache inducing moment:
None at all. I was as happy as a lark, all through the episode.
This episode’s a glass of Island Breeze, light and unencumbered and just perfect. There were lots of smiles and lots of happy moments and the best part? No noble idiocy. Thank heavens for that!
