Settling things right can sometimes have a ripple effect, although it doesn’t stop the onset of noble idiocy. Seok Ho gets saved from going to jail although he’s not initially thankful to his savior. Min Joo and Seok Ho figure out Yeon Soo’s feelings and Seok Ho figures out Ha Nuel’s. All the while, Joon Suk is suffering a nervous breakdown, not that we feel an iota of pity for him.
Top 10 Moments:
- Ji Nu agrees to give back “Don’t Touch”
Following the successful concert, Seok Ho returns back to the bridge Sung Hyun had drowned at, with the contract he’d signed with baby Ha Nuel ten years prior, to inform Sung Hyun that he’s decided that it’s now his turn to give back the music he’d stolen. He also pays a visit to Choi Joon Ha who heads back to Australia, but not before getting Seok Ho to promise to come visit any time he’s in the area. Whist Ddanddara is celebrating their performance at home, Seok Ho is meeting with Ji Nu who tells him that before he travels, Ji Nu wants to make sure he gives back the song. Apparently, watching Choi Joon Ha’s courage at the concert, and seeing Seok Ho had given Ji Nu the courage to make the decision. And even though Seok Ho reminds him that making the confession could easily mean that Ji Nu would never step on a stage again, Ji Nu still wants to go through with it. What he’s worried about though is the fact that he’s looked into the matter and learned that he and Seok Ho might go to jail and he wonders what would happen with Ddanddara. Seok Ho’s solution? Convince the CEO of another music label to take on the boys. The CEO is shocked as this because this is the time that Ddanddara would start getting success, meaning now is the time for Seok Ho to reap the rewards of his efforts. He asks if Seok Ho is ill or something to which Seok Ho replies that he might be going away for a very long time (awwww. Seok Ho is worried about getting jail time). And so Seok Ho heads to the police station to turn himself in and shares the news with a shocked Min Joo the next morning. Apparently the police said they would call him in after they’re able to get in touch with the songwriter’s family and should Seok Ho be found guilty (which he is), then he would have to either spend a year in jail or pay a 10 million Won fine. Min Joo is of course all up for Seok Ho to pay the fine and even volunteers to help him with it, but Seok Ho insists on going to jail (Drats his all desire to be upright and shit. He feels guilty and wants to pay for his crimes. Seok Ho!!!!).
2. Seok Ho breaks the news to Ddanddara
Wanting to share all the news in a more comfortable environment, Seok Ho invites the band, and Geu Rin to a pizza place and whilst they’re stuffing their faces with pizza, starts the conversation by asking them if they’ve heard of Wild Company. Nobody has heard of them (as is to be expected) and when Ha Nuel asks why Seok Ho is talking about the company, Seok Ho mentions that he believes that it’s time for Ddanddara to move on to the next stage; the next stage being partnering up with Wild Company, thus Dddanddara will be with Wild Company instead of Mango Entertainment. Except, the band members are quite happy with where they presently are and instead vow to build Mango Entertainment till it’s as big as Wild Company (hahaha. Not quite how you expected it to turn out is it Seok Ho?). When Seok Ho continues to insist on Wild Company, Ha Nuel who has always been able to read him well cuts right to the chase and asks what Seok Ho’s up to. It’s at this point that Seok Ho explains that he has no right to be the CEO of the company managing Ddanddara because he, like Joon Suk had stolen someone else’s song and passed it on to Jackson as theirs, and then the actual songwriter had committed suicide as a result. It was why he’d been drunk driving on the night he’d gotten into his accident. And so that’s why he doesn’t deserve to represent Ddanddara. He ends the statement by telling them that he’s turned himself in and would probably have to go to prison, which is the reason why he wants them all to go join a bigger company and then flourish there.
3. Jang Min Soo’s brother saves Seok Ho from going to jail
Whilst Ddanddara deals with the sudden news dropped in their laps by Seok Ho and exclaim about how much Seok Ho has changed from being a man like Joon Suk who would steal someone’s song and cause another family the same kind of hurt Ha Nuel’s family had gone through, Seok Ho is with Min Joo who is still trying to reconcile herself to everything that is going on. It is whilst they’re talking that Seok Ho gets the call that has him racing to the police station where he’s faced with the songwriter: Jang Min Soo’s younger brother. As the policeman questions Jang Min Soo’s brother and ask him if all the details are correct: that Seok Ho stole Jang Min Soo’s song and the latter eventually committed suicide as a result of that, Jang Min Soo’s brother simply answers that he’s not sure. When Seok Ho tries to jog the man’s memory that he’d come to his office a while back to beat him up… Jang Min Soo’s brother cuts him off and tells the policeman that he can’t say for certain what caused his brother’s death (is it bad that right now I’m just rejoicing at the fact that Seok Ho has been offered his escape and so wouldn’t be going to jail?), especially because his brother hadn’t left a suicide letter behind. He glares at the policeman as he asks why the officer would dredge up such a painful memory when he himself is a busy man, and then makes to leave. When the police officer tries to confirm if that means the man isn’t pressing charges, Jang Min Soo’s brother claims that there’s nothing to press charges for as he claims that he doesn’t know Seok Ho. It turns out though that Jang Min Soo’s brother also carries guilt with regards to his brother’s death, as he shares it with Seok Ho that their father never supported his brother’s dreams and his girlfriend, the one Jang Min Soo had lied to Seok Ho that he was planning on marrying, had broken up with him a year before his death. The brother continues tearfully that on the day his brother had committed suicide, Jang Min Soo had invited him over for a drink but he hadn’t been able to make it because he had been too busy with work, and now that he and his father have finally found healing, he doesn’t want Seok Ho dredging up the past. When Seok Ho then asks exactly what he should do then, Jang Min Soo’s brother tells him to live with the decision he’s made for the rest of his life. He does stop however to tell Seok Ho that he’d enjoyed Sung Hyun’s performance, particularly because it had reminded him of his brother, and then he leaves.
4. The bromance is strong within them
Ha Nuel ends up going to the Mango Entertainment office to wait for Seok Ho because Seok Ho didn’t leave information as to which police station he was heading to. Except, Seok Ho doesn’t show and when Ha Nuel finally decides to call him, it’s a drunk off his ass Seok Ho that answers (drunk Seok Ho is so cute) and has Ha Nuel rushing to meet him at a bar, where Seok Ho drunkenly tries to buy Ha Nuel a drink (hahaha. Isn’t Ha Nuel just a bit underaged for that?) Ha Nuel though stops the woman before she can get him the drink and walks Seok Ho out of the bar. Soon Ha Nuel is trying to steady drunk Seok Ho and drunk Seok Ho is slurring that he’s sure Ha Nuel is interested in the reason why he’s not in jail but Ha Nuel figures that Seok Ho would tell him in the morning. When Seok Ho almost slips and falls, Ha Nuel piggybacks him (awwwww. How cute), even as Seok Ho slurs that Ha Nuel is strong, and has a pretty strong back (you don’t say. I’m sure he feels like you weigh a ton as well Seok Ho. Hehehe). Seok Ho though continues to talk, telling Ha Nuel that Sung Hyun saved his life; that the family had seen Ha Nuel and Sung Hyun’s performance on stage and decided to not press charges. The next morning, Ha Nuel is groaning at the pain he’s feeling in his back (hahaha. Poor Ha Nuel) but he shares the good news with Ddanddara that Seok Ho is not going to jail, and the boys are thrilled that that also means they wouldn’t be doing to Wild Company.
5. Seok Ho is an idiot; the boys are not
Seok Ho on the other hand wakes up with a hangover from hell and an unwillingness to consider what he’d done and the things he’d said to Ha Nuel who had found him drinking (hehehe. You can’t avoid it Seok Ho). When Min Joo asks him how his visit to the police station went, Geu Rin interrupts with medicine to help with Seok Ho’s hangover which Min Joo jealously notes. Seok Ho though is still insisting on Ddanddara moving to Wild Company (I don’t think the boys will be happy to hear that Seok Ho) and tells Geu Rin to make sure that the boys show up on time for the meeting with Wild Company. When Seok Ho meets with CEO Byun for hangover soup, he explains to CEO Byun that he thinks Ddanddara would go to waste if they stay with him (pshaw. What the hell you going on about now Seok Ho. You’ve been with these boys for 17 episodes. Don’t start spewing nonsense now). Except by the time it’s meeting time with the CEO of Wild Company, it’s only Seok Ho and the CEO that are present. When Seok Ho calls Geu Rin to inquire as to what’s causing the delay, she drops the bomb that the boys refused to attend the meeting (hahahaha. Serves you right Seok Ho. What else do you expect. Do you know your boys at all? Hahahaha).
6. Kyle is just too adorable
Seok Ho is as expected pissed, and has Geu Rin call a meeting of the Ddanddara band members at the Mango office. When he gets there, asking how the boys could have messed up such an amazing opportunity, Kyle interrupts, asking everyone to seat and then hands them tissues. When they wonder what the hell is doing, he tells them he has something to say and they should feel free to cry if they want (hehehe). He starts by saying that he understands Seok Ho’s desire to send them to somewhere better, but says that the action makes it seem like Seok Ho is throwing them away. Seok Ho of course wouldn’t stand for such nonsense talk but Kyle continues by saying that parents who tell their children that they want them to be adopted and meet better parents are basically throwing them away. Seok Ho still doesn’t understand so Kyle explains that he never met his biological parents and although his adopted parents treated him well and made sure he got the best training possible, it doesn’t change the fact that he was adopted. Everyone is shocked but Kyle continues that upon seeing Yeon Soo, he thought him amazing, and also wondered why his biological parents threw him away. He adds that his adopted father said he’d cried a lot when he was getting adopted and so had called him Lee Bang Geul in hope that Kyle would have a life filled with smiles (awwww). He then turns to Seok Ho to say that Seok Ho claims that he’s sending them to a ‘better’ company, but what determines better, anyway? Kyle passes on more tissues saying that he knew his story would make them all cry, then stops as he realizes that every eye looking back at him is dry; no one is crying (hahahaha. Poor Kyle). He is of course outraged at their lack of tears, but Ha Nuel brings the conversation back to Seok Ho not throwing them away, whilst Kyle adds that they all want to succeed and see the business grow, they just want to do so with Seok Ho (awwwww). Then Kyle suggests they go on a trip to celebrate their first band fight (hahahaha).
7. Everything continues to tumble for Joon Suk
Joon Suk’s minion comes into his office to deliver the bad news about the plummeting value of their stock (yippee!!!! I want you broke, in jail and reduced to absolute garbage Joon Suk. Happy to see that it’s all coming true). Joon Suk sighs as he tells his minion to arrange a meeting with all the station chiefs to which his minion explains that the problem isn’t just with the stations refusing to take on their stars, but that their stars themselves are all preparing contract termination suits to be leveled against KTOP and claiming that KTOP negatively affects their image (hahahaha. Oh Joon Suk, you’re going down). Joon Suk is left to seethe.
8. Yeon Soo learns that Min Joo likes Seok Ho
With Kyle’s suggest that the whole group (Ddanddara & Mango Entertainment) all go for a trip, Geu Rin and Min Joo are left searching for locations. When Geu Rin spots one that she wonders if Seok Ho would like, it confirms Min Joo’s suspicions about Geu Rin liking Seok Ho right back. Lying that she has to be somewhere else, Min Joo leaves the office only to start to cry as she gets to her car and realizes that she left her wallet and car keys behind. At that exact moment, Yeon Soo shows up and spots her tears, asking her what’s wrong. Although she tries to lie that she’s fine and she’s just going for a drive, Yeon Soo is too perceptive and catches her in the lie because her keys and her bag aren’t with her. But he does help her save face that maybe what she was craving was a walk and soon, they two of them are walking together (I really really like this couple and how cute they are together). They walk for some time until they finally stop at a park bench where Yeon Soo presses for the reason why Min Joo’s crying. Min Joo finally comes clean to him about liking Seok Ho. When Yeon Soo asks why she kept her liking him a secret for 10 years instead of just telling him, Min Joo answers that she was scared that Seok Ho would run away and she didn’t want to lose their friendship, but now she’s discovered that Seok Ho likes someone else. Yeon Soo promises to keep her secret but mentions that he doesn’t think Min Joo would have been able to keep her secret from Seok Ho for so long if she’d truly been in love with him because she wouldn’t have been able to bear keeping her feelings a secret. When she sighs, Yeon Soo calls her prettier than Geu Rin and tells her that she’s awesome, smart, good looking and from a good family, in other words, she’s a real catch (hehehe. Careful there Yeon Soo. Your crush is showing).
9. Everyone knows Yeon Soo’s got a crush
Whilst Seok Ho is having coffee with an adorable Kyle who is all excited for their trip, he gets a call from Min Joo’s father’s company asking to have Yeon Soo shoot a commercial for a group of apartments they own, seeing as Yeon Soo is one of the responsible kids out there, raising his child all on his own, an image the group feels would go with their apartments (Ha! I think Min Joo’s dad just wants to get a glimpse of his future son-in-law. Hehehehe). The only problem though is that when it’s time to shoot, Yeon Soo is extremely stiff and not feeling comfortable with being alone on camera (awwww. How cute). Seok Ho finally meets him to give a pep talk and have him think of celebrity he likes and to imagine that he’s asking the girl to come live with him. Yeon Soo is not into celebrities, but the woman he does like: Min Joo, shows up on set to see how the commercial filming is going, and it’s like she was all the person he needed as he slips into the role, asking sweetly if she would like to live with him. The words even get to Min Joo who starts to fan herself, and Seok Ho being the smart man he is asks her if the article putting her and Yeon Soo together as a couple has some truth in it (hahahaha). Min Joo’s reply? A kick in Seok Ho’s shins (hahahahahaha).
10. Seok Ho discovers that Ha Nuel likes Geu Rin
Whilst the others are thrilled about going on their trip, Seok Ho and Geu Rin shop for all the necessities needed for the team’s vacation. Whilst on their way back, Seok Ho learns that Geu Rin had dropped out of university in her second year in school, where she’d been studying veterinary medicine. Seok Ho of course thinks the vocation suits her (you think a lot of things suit her Seok Ho. Hahaha) and Geu Rin replies that her teacher had called her a cute puppy. They stop by a store to get her sunglasses because the sun keeps getting into Geu Rin’s eyes and Seok Ho looks besotted as she tries on a pair that look really good on her. Vacation begins with everyone hurling bags and things into the house they would be staying at and when Geu Rin comes in almost falling with the weight of the pack of bottled water she’s carrying, Seok Ho and Ha Nuel notice, but Ha Nuel gets to her first, expressing concern for her (clue 1 for Seok Ho). Whilst Yeon Soo, Jae Hoon, Min Joo, Man Shik, Kyle and Geu Rin engaged in a friendly game of football, Seok Ho and Ha Nuel watch the match all the while laughing at Man Shik’s abysmal playing. But then, they’re laughing at Geu Rin’s lack of football playing skills as well, until she falls and they both rise, looking at her in concern, except Seok Ho notices Ha Nuel’s expression and then flashes back to all the conversation they’ve had and the fact that Geu Rin and Ha Nuel aren’t blood related, and all the pieces click for him: Ha Nuel likes Geu Rin.
Character I wanted to bitchslap:
No one. We’re in the home stretch meaning nobody’s annoying me to the point of me wanting to slap the person hard. Yay me!
Headache inducing moment:
This moment. Because this is the moment just before noble idiocy will set in and Seok Ho will start pushing Geu Rin away because he doesn’t want to hurt Ha Nuel and ‘take away’ the girl Ha Nuel likes. Thank heavens there’s only one episode left. I don’t think I would be able to handle the noble idiocy for longer than that.
This episode’s a Sweet Tea Sangria. It’s happy, it’s fluffy, it’s beautiful. Sure the only conflict on the horizon is the soon to be commencement of noble idiocy but who cares when our boys have suffered so much for the last 16 episodes and deserve all the respite they can get. I know I’m happy about it.
