Sometimes all you need is a loud scream and a long kiss. Do Kyung finally breaks away from other Hae Young. Tae Jin tells the whole truth. Hae Young considers going back to Tae Jin, then a smoking hot kiss has her reconsidering everything.
Top 10 Moments:
1. Hae Young’s her goofy self
After remembering Do Kyung’s harsh words to her, about not being willing to jump from one Oh Hae Young to the next, Hae Young proves how awesome she is by forcing a smile on her face and telling everyone that although she hasn’t had a good day so far, she hopes the smile will bring good things her way. She even holds the elevator for other Oh Hae Young and greets her with a smile. Hae Young, don’t ever change. Lol.
2. Hae Young speaks her mind
After taking a metabolic age test at the office, the office workers proceed to a bar for a game where the metabolic age determines seniority at the bar. Hae Young is thrilled at being 41 because she can lord it over the others, but isn’t as thrilled when she sees that other Hae Young is 21. She takes the time to air her grievances from telling other Hae Young to change her name to “Oh Bit Na”, as it’s more suited to someone who sparkles, to asking why she dared to come back when she left Do Kyung and cancelled the wedding. When she asks why other Hae Young disappeared on her wedding day and cancelled the wedding, other Hae Young tosses the question right back at her to ask why she cancelled her wedding on the day before. Things come to a head when Hae Young overhears other Hae Young’s call with Do Kyung where she tells him about their game and how old Hae Young is, in comparison to her (Girl that was so inappropriate sharing all that). Hae Young, remembering the physical abuse she’d gone through in school, just because a group of girls had mistaken her for the other Hae Young heads to where the other Hae Young’s sitting and tries to head-butt her but is head-butted by So Kyung instead. Hahaha. The move, knocks her unconscious.
3. Do Kyung to the rescue
With Hae Young unconscious, So Kyung takes her to the Park house and is stuck on where Hae Young’s house is. Luckily, Do Kyung shows up and So Kyung asks him where Hae Young’s house is. He doesn’t reply but instead puts her in his car to take her home. Other Hae Young is all ready to come along for the ride but Do Kyung (thankfully) declines her offer and drives off alone with Hae Young. Except, by the time he drives right back, everyone is standing outside, including Ji Sang and Hoon and Do Kyung has to drive away again and take Hae Young to a hotel instead.
4. Boys will be boys
Jin Sang and Hoon spot other Oh Hae Young through the window and rush out, all ready to do battle with her for breaking Do Kyung’s heart. Except, when she turns around with a smile, both boys immediately melt into a puddle of goo. Idiots!
5. Soo Kyung meets her ex
Taking Ji Sang’s words to heart that she should reach out to her ex in order to find happiness, Soo Kyung calls him and they meet up at a bridge, before proceeding to the bar she’s been spending months getting drunk at. Soo Kyung listens to her ex talk and sadly realizes that he has moved on.
6. Jin Sang gets caught
In the midst of finding an available hotel room where he can spend the night with his date, Jin Sang decides to take her to his place instead. Except, he runs into the husband of one of the many women he’s slept with who has been waiting for him with an axe. The man strips him of his clothes and drops him on his mother’s doorstep with a sign around his neck stating that he’d messed around with a married woman and asking if that’s how he was raised 😆 His mother begins to wail.
7. Jin Sang and Soo Kyung spend the night drinking and end up in bed
After the humiliation at his mother’s house, Jin Sang returns to Do Kyung’s house to raid his liquor stash and drink and dance his sorrows away. Soo Kyung, back from her humiliating date with the man who doesn’t love her anymore joins him. Morning finds them in bed together with Soo Kyung doing the walk of shame back to her room and pretending nothing happened when she runs into Jin Sang at breakfast the next morning.
8. Tae Jin tells Hae Young the truth
After meeting his mother for lunch and being told that Hae Young’s mother cursed her out and told her there is no way she would allow Hae Young to marry Tae Jin, Tae Jin figures out that Hae Young must have come clean to her parents. He meets up with her and when she warns him to not meet her like this anymore, he tells her the truth; that he went to jail and he only said what he said because he thought he would be gone for years and didn’t want her to wait for him. Hae Young breaks down in tears and heads straight to her parents house to hold onto them as she cries her heart out.
9. Do Kyung can’t keep his feelings hidden for much longer
With another night spent at her parents’ house, Do Kyung spends the night missing Hae Young and wondering when she would be coming back home. He replays all the recordings he has of her when she lived next door and remembers all the instances with her, like her jumping into his arms and asking him to spin her around in front of her colleagues, and her pretending like he’s her honey whenever a deliveryman comes around. He meets with other Hae Young for a game of ping pong and stops her in her tracks by telling her that he’s not coming back for any more games as he’s well and truly done with it all now (something tells me other Hae Young’s not too happy about this development from the look in her eyes). After officially breaking up with other Hae Young, he heads straight to Hae Young’s parents’ house to share the news and his heart breaks when he sees Tae Jin leaving the house. Hurt, he leaves without saying a word.
10. Do Kyung and Hae Young share a sizzling kiss
Still miffed at Tae Jin’s appearance at the Ohs’ the previous night, compounded with Hae Young informing him that she’s going to move out that day, Do Kyung lashes out by calling her ‘easy’, wondering how she could go back to a man who dumped her because he was embarrassed that his business failed and he would be going to jail (and here I thought Hae Young would jump on this and ask him exactly how he knew that particular detail). Hae Young lashes back out that she’s well aware of that fact but she’s hanging on to Tae Jin to keep herself from throwing herself at Do Kyung. Do Kyung, stunned and filled with so much emotion walks away, only for Hae Young who has worked herself into a rage to go after him and start hitting him. He tries to restrain her and holds her against the wall; spends a moment staring at her eyes and her mouth, then goes in for one of the best kisses in Kdrama history ;). They take a moment to rest in each other arms, till Do Kyung pulls away and walks away from Hae Young; the expression on his doctor’s face as he told him he’d figured out why he’s been having visions, flashing before his eyes.
Character I wanted to bitch slap:
The idiotic squad. Seriously, how the hell do these two have jobs? In what universe is it okay for you to mock a woman about her age and compare her negatively with another colleague who you refer to as young, even as you call the other woman an Ahjumma. Come over, let me Ahjumma your idiotic faces. Urgh!
Headache inducing moment:
Because I knew that was the moment when Do Kyung would be an idiot and turn around without saying what he’d actually come out to say: Hae Young, I like you, I miss you. Come home. Seriously you idiot. That was all you had to say and she would have dropped Tae Jin like a hot potato.
This episode’s a perfect Vandaag’s Amsterdam Toddy. It’s fragrant, beautiful and exquisite, with a smoking hot kiss that can drive any cold way and leave you warm from the inside out.
