Once in a while, the universe thinks to give you a break and usually at the nick of time. Ok Nyeo finds refuge in Mama Yoon’s house, but not for long. Tae Won learns to take chances to save Ok Nyeo’s life. Lord Yoon and Jung Nan Jung collude to get Ok Nyeo killed, only to have to face the music when they can’t pull it off.
Top 10 Moments:
1. Chun Doong and Treasurer Ji lead the Police to Ok Nyeo
Ji Hun figuring out that Ok Nyeo would be contacted by those she’s close to, has policemen shadowing Treasurer Ji, her master Lee Ji Ham and master pickpocket Jun Woo Chi. One of the policemen tailing Treasurer Ji is present with he goes to meet Chun Doong who updates him on Ok Nyeo and takes him to Ok Nyeo’s hideout. Moments later, the police show up. Mercifully, Ok Nyeo isn’t there.
2. Ok Nyeo pays the spy chief a visit
Angry that she’s done everything he asked her to because she wanted to live and yet she’s still been targeted to be killed, Ok Nyeo asks him what she’s done wrong. Resigned and well aware that he’s betrayed her, the spy chief claims that it’s all his fault. That he’s the one who’s pushed her to the brink and can’t help her anymore. He asks her to kill him. Ok Nyeo wails that killing him wouldn’t benefit her in anyway as it wouldn’t clear her of the murder charge she’s facing.
3. Ji Hun’s not so besotted with his betrothed
After reporting back to Lord Yoon that he lost Ok Nyeo who he didn’t know was an extremely capable fighter (seriously Ji Hun? When the inept policeman was telling you she’s skilled in martial arts, you weren’t paying attention?), Lord Yoon presses him to be persistent in catching Ok Nyeo, whilst Jung Nan Jung asks him to be sure to see Shin Hye. He does see her, but can’t be bothered to have tea with her, claiming that he has work to do. Methinks this guy sucks at dating.
4. Chun Doong and Treasurer Ji escape torture
After being captured by the police for helping in hiding away Ok Nyeo, Chun Doong and Treasurer Ji are thankfully left in the charge of the inept police officer who’s a friend of them both. Whilst lying to Ji Hun that he’s trying to torture the truth out of the two, the policeman instead spends the time hitting the table and sacks of flour whilst Chun Doong and Treasure Ji fake cry to make Ji Hun think that they’re being tortured. Like I said, Ji Hun, you’re not a smart man.
5. Tae Won brings Ok Nyeo to meet Lord Yoon’s wife
Seems like Tae Won might hate Lord Yoon’s guts and Jung Nan Jung right alongside, but he treats his wife like she’s his very own mother. He brings Ok Nyeo to her house and asks her to let Ok Nyeo stay with her for a while. She agrees and it tickles me pink that Ok Nyeo will be hiding right underneath Lord Yoon’s nose.
6. Lord Yoon’s mesmerized So Jung
After spending his evening sulking and distracted by the still missing Ok Nyeo, Hwang Gyo Ha invites So Jung to come and entertain Lord Yoon. Lord Yoon who was initially irritated that Gyo Ha would think he’s so easily distracted, is besotted by So Jung’s beauty. Gyo Ha it turns out, planned everything so Lord Yoon would take So Jung as his concubine and abandon Jung Nan Jung. I’m guessing no one handed her the memo of Jung Nan Jung poisoning her way up to soon becoming Lord Yoon’s legal wife. Jung Nan Jung though is aware of the possibility of being replaced as a concubine and warns Lord Yoon to never see So Jung again, if he doesn’t want anything to happen to the girl.
7. Tae Won meets Jung Nan Jung
After visiting Ok Nyeo safe at Lord Yoon’s wife’s house, Tae Won heads to the house Lord Yoon shares with Jung Nan Jung to meet with his father. Jung Nan Jung, fearing the repercussions of that meeting taking place, meets with Tae Won instead and orders him out of the house and to never return. Of course, I wonder why Tae Won just can’t have Gyo Ha arrange a meet with said Lord at Sosoru…
8. Tae Won meets with the head of the palace guard
Remembering, Ok Nyeo’s request that he should arrange a meeting for her with the head of the palace guard who had promised that her life would be spared if she tells him what really happened with Tae So, Tae Won still doesn’t tell the man all he knows and just lies that he hasn’t seen Ok Nyeo since the Ming expedition.
9. Ok Nyeo’s arrested and then rescued by the Queen Dowager
After Mama Yoon’s spy servant girl finds the wanted poster of Ok Nyeo, she heads straight to Jung Nan Jung’s assistant who immediately reports to Jung Nan Jung. This then leads to Ji Hun being sent to arrest Ok Nyeo where she’s at. Thankfully, Tae Won changed his mind about informing the palace guard and the head of the palace guard gets there in time. When Ji Hun pulls the Lord Yoon wants her so get lost card, the head of the palace guard pulls the, the Queen Dowager wants her so suck it card. And yup. It was as awesome as it sounds :).
10. Ok Nyeo meets with the Queen Dowager and tells the truth
When questioned, Ok Nyeo tells the whole truth, from meeting Tae Soo when she was fifteen, to him training her, to her mission in Ming and right down to her finding Tae Soo after he’d been stabbed. As she relates her tale, Lord Yoon and Jung Nan Jung demand an audience with the queen and are surprised to find Ok Nyeo already with her. With them present, the Queen Dowager asks Ok Nyeo what else happened and she tells her about Tae Soo telling her that Lord Yoon had ordered one of the spies with them to kill him. Lord Yoon is as expected horrified, as is Jung Nan Jung, whilst the Queen Dowager looks tired between crying and being pissed as hell. I hope she goes with pissed.
Character I wanted to bitch slap:
Because Ji Hun is still being used, now by Lord Yoon and he’s so focused on pleasing his father-in-law that he doesn’t even take the bloody time to figure out why on earth his father-in-law is so desperate to find Ok Nyeo. Like take a bloody minute to find out exactly what the girl does.
Headache inducing moment:
I screamed myself hoarse for her to go back in there and catch the maid poisoning Mama Yoon’s food. Like seriously girl, if your spy senses are tingling, shouldn’t you take them more seriously and find out why you’re so worried? She does go back, but by then, it’s too late as the police was already there to arrest her.
This episode’s a shot of whiskey. Gone in one gulp and leaving a burning trail that has you high on tension with all the mind numbing twists and turns and hits and misses and saves just when you think your stomach dropped and all hell has been let loose. Whoo!
