Even rats know to leave a sinking ship. Everybody has questions and both Ji Young and Joo Han feel the heat. Chan Hee’s mother makes a reappearance, Yeon Soo falls even more in love, as does Seok Ho and Geu Rin and Ha Nuel finally takes the bull by the horns and speaks what he wants.
Top 10 Moments:
1. The reporter smells a rat
Smelling a big scoop, the reporter who Joo Han had initially contracted to release the story about Ha Nuel’s assault charge, only to be beaten to it by Seok Ho has spent time putting the facts together. He remembers that Joo Han had been pushing for that version of events and now that KTOP is singing a different tune, he’s suspicious of whether or not the whole thing was planned by Ji Young, who he identifies also as Luna and KTOP. Keep pushing reporter man. Keep pushing.
2. Ji Young shows her fangs
Well aware of the fact that Joon Suk and Joo Han threw Jinu under the bus and could readily do the same to her, Ji Young goes to meet Joo Han after the reporter’s published story that not so subtly pointed her out as the Miss A in the Ha Nuel frame up scandal. She warns him that she’s not going down alone and shows him the rest of the recording which showed Joo Han as the one hitting Ha Nuel with a bat on that fateful night.
3. Seok Ho reminds Ji Young and Joo Han what the stakes are
Considering the fact that sponsors of Jinu have started pulling out of their contracts and demanding compensation from KTOP and Jinu himself, Seok Ho reminds Ji Young that unlike Jinu who has money to pay for all the damages, Ji Young doesn’t have the funds to pull it off. And she shouldn’t kid herself. If Joon Suk wants to dump her, he most certainly would. And to crown it all, Joon Suk might just sue her for the damages she caused KTOP as a company itself. He ends the talk by telling her to pass him the video she had her brother record before midnight or else he would circulate the pictures of her carrying an inebriated Jinu on the internet. While he’s at it, he lets Joo Han know that he’s the one who’s been sending him pictures and he should be prepared to be abandoned and jailed.
4. Ha Nuel sucks at asking a girl out
After Yeon Soo offers him advice to not just rush into offering Geu Rin the couple ring he bought but should instead build to it by asking her on a date first, Ha Nuel works himself up into asking Geu Rin to go somewhere with him, only to get frustrated when Geu Rin remains her clueless self and misinterprets his requests as wanting to go outside the house and not out, out. Poor Ha Nuel.
5. Seok Ho should give Ha Nuel dating lessons
Turns out Ha Nuel didn’t need to take Geu Rin out of state for a romantic date. Seok Ho just took her on the very same walk Geu Rin thought Ha Nuel was asking for and commented on how pretty she looks. Her smiles and blushes confirm that yes, she’s really pleased. And strangely enough, it’s in that moment I actually can see Seok Ho and Geu Rin in a relationship. They look good together.
6. Joon Suk makes his play
After Joo Han comes clean about the fact that Ji Young has a video of what happened that night and that Seok Ho has images of Ji Young carrying an inebriated Jinu into a cab, Joon Suk sits Ji Young down to inform her that the reason why Seok Ho and Jinu were ruined was because they didn’t allow him protect them but were instead focused on their fears and what they stand to gain. He promises to protect Ji Young and strangely enough, she believes him.
7. Chan Hee meets his mother
Turns out the crying woman from yesterday’s episode really is Chan Hee’s mother who abandoned him and Yeon Soo shortly after Chan Hee was born. After having Min Joo deliver a letter with a message requesting Yeon Soo to let her meet Chan Hee, Yeon Soo agrees to the meeting and mother and son finally meet. Thank heaves Chan Hee feels uncomfortable around her and runs off, if not he would have heard his mother telling Yeon Soo that she left because she couldn’t deal with their poor life together and has no intention of ever seeing Chan Hee again because she’s getting married. Hello and bye-bye woman, Chan Hee and Yeon Soo deserve way better than you. And yes, I mean you Min Joo :).
8. Min Joo’s awesome and Yeon Soo falls even more in love
After Chan Hee’s mother left, both Chan Hee and Yeon Soo start to cry. Thankfully Min Joo shows up and stops the crying session by pointing out all the amazing features that Yeon Soo has going for him. The man needed to hear it and it’s more touching that he’s hearing it from Min Joo who everyone but Min Joo and Man Shik knows he has a crush on her.
9. Ji Young makes the right call
For a moment there, I thought Ji Young was going to buy into Joon Suk’s promises of keeping her protected and instead leaving Joo Han to take all the blame. But she weighed his words against the warning Seok Ho had given her about being next on Joon Suk’s list and she sent Seok Ho the video instead.
10. Ha Nuel makes his feelings known
After inviting Geu Rin to come and see the stars with him, she, clueless as ever invites Kyle and Jae Hoon along for the ride, so they can all go clear their heads together at the conservatory. With Kyle and Jae Hoon taking selcas downstairs, Ha Nuel hands Geu Rin the couple ring and pops the question: Let’s date
Character I wanted to bitch slap:
Geu Rin. Not because she was annoying but because she was so clueless I was hoping that the slap would knock some sense into her and open her eyes to Ha Nuel’s feelings for her.
Headache inducing moment:
Seok Ho giving a headsup to Joon Suk about him being at a police station. Someone like Joon Suk should be blindsided with such news because with his power and connection, there’s nothing stopping him from keeping the truth getting to the right person in that police station. Seriously Seok Ho. I thought you were smarter than this!
This episode’s a cold beer after a long day. Satisfying and uplifting with the belief that things can only get better. Except for the hangover that might probably come in the next morning.
