CEO Jung discovers that trying times reveal who your allies are, Shin Woo has to rely on the son-in-law he’s been kicking against and Hae Kyung discovers just how awesome it is when Jo Deul Ho is on your side.
Top 10 Moments:
1. Lawyer Jo throws down the gauntlet for Chief Prosecutor Shim
Which in itself should not be that much of a surprise. Chief prosecutor Shim was responsible for Hae Kyung getting arrested at the end of last week’s episode and as we’re coming to realize, the man is a lying snake. So of course, the final showdown should be with him. Brace yourself sir, because Jo Deul Ho never loses. You’re going down 8-).
2. Jo Deul Ho comes to Hae Kyung’s defense. Literarily.
This is one client, other than the Kang Il Goo that Deul Ho has been personally invested in. So you can bet that whilst Ji Wook was trying his damnedest to get Hae Kyung to confess, Deul Ho entered the room swinging and ready to defend Hae Kyung. Thank goodness she agreed to him being her lawyer instead of being represented by Geum San because when you’re facing prison time and tax evasion charges, you want the one man who’s been kicking your firm’s legal behind on every case on your side.
3. Out of the mouth of babes…
Soo Bin’s back in Deul Ho’s office and looking adorable (Seriously. That kid is just to cute for words :)). Her mother’s sitting in the prosecutor office so Deul Ho is watching her, and seeing as Deul Ho doesn’t work alone, Ae Ra and Dae Soo are there. And trust Soo Bin, that astute little girl to point out the elephant (or sexual tension ;)) in the air and appear amazed that Ae Ra and Dae Soo haven’t gotten together and done the deed. The fact that those two don’t outrightly deny it in the strongest terms tells me where this writer is leaning towards .
4. Sassy Eun Jo
Eun Jo dearest, I’m happy to see that Deul Ho has been a positive influence on you :). The sass with which she not only demanded for files regarding Hae Kyung’s case but also reminded smarmy Tae Jung that Geum San can’t be counted on in defending Hae Kyung because they’re the ones who made Hae Kyung CEO of a paper company was pure gold :D. Deul Ho would have been proud :). You’re nothing like the little girl who used to kowtow to Tae Jung when you were working at Geum San.
5. Hae Kyung breaks away from her father
And about time too! Hae Kyung finds out that not only did her father make her CEO of a paper company used to manage a slush fund and for tax evasion purposes, but her father kept that detail from her when he made her think her ex husband had betrayed her trust. She says bye-bye to daddy dearest and now, I’m keeping my fingers for Ji Wook to grow a pair as well and do just that.
6. Soo Bin wheedles the adults into doing her homework
Seriously, this girl is smart. She’s spent the whole day at daddy’s place playing around and having fun and now gets the adult to help her with her homework so she can get it done on time. With a father like Deul Ho, a mother like Hae Kyung and a sneaky grandfather like Shin Woo, that girl’s got brains.
7. CEO Jung realizes he’s been backstabbed and would be heading to jail
I thought watching CEO Jung suffer a meltdown in episode 14 was satisfying. Turns out I was wrong. He was even more livid, with his bulging eyes and the the dawning horror that chief prosecutor Shim had cut him lose and he was definitely going to prison. I don’t feel sorry for you for one moment CEO Jung, but never fear. At the way chief prosecutor Shim is going, he would most likely be joining you in prison :D.
8. Prosecutor Shim shows his fangs to Shin Woo
Well, I’d thought Shin Woo had been planning for this when he suspected what Shim was up to. Turned out that wasn’t the case and he was really surprised to realize that Prosecutor Shim had him. With CEO Jung in the hospital after a bursted aneurysm (still want him to recover so he can serve time *Shrug*) and Hae Kyung in jail, Prosecutor Shim had no problem with showing his hand to an unsuspecting Shin Woo, all so Shin Woo can close those offshore accounts linking him to CEO Jung and instead transfer it to prosecutor Shim’s account. But that may well be his downfall yet. Because Shin Woo has Deul Ho waiting in the wings for him to come calling. Thank you for giving him the reason Prosecutor :p.
9. Slimy lawyer chooses sides
I wasn’t surprised that this happened. He’s had the look of a backstabber and the tongue of a liar since the first time he showed up. Unfortunately for him, he chose the wrong side because I don’t think prosecutor Shim would be going down alone. And I don’t feel sorry for him.
10. Prosecutor Shim gets robbed and has to smile for the camera
Trust Deul Ho to come up with a plan that would have that 30 million dollars prosecutor Shim wanted so desperately handed over to the less fortunate, or in this case, the paper company that Shin Woo created with Hae Kyung as a CEO. Now the paper company is all too real and is contributing to the society (cue in Ae Ran, Dae Soo and Eun Jo. I luff this crew :D), and the 30 million dollars, prosecutor Shim was meant to get transferred into his account is pushed into the charity. And he can’t say anything because Deul Ho roped him in and told the press conference that was called to share the news that prosecutor Shim has contributed personal funds to the account. A brilliant move Deul Ho and Shin Woo. Well played. Well played indeed. Bwahahahaha.
Character I wanted to bitch slap:
Ji Wook. Dude, your father’s playing you! How can you be so blind? Urgh! 17 episodes have passed and you’re still like a string being yanked about in the wind. Grow some spine and open your eyes and do what Hae Kyung did, walk away!
Headache inducing moment:
Ji Wook’s stupidity and gullibility. Deleting the file that proved that indeed your father is a corrupt prosecutor who has received money from CEO Jung just shows how blind you are and naive too. Deal Ho is coming for your father. Just wait and see.
This episode’s a glass of Sutter Home’s Sweet Red. It’s a kickback and watch the baddies self-destruct, the ones with redemption move towards the right path and everybody waiting for the chips to land where they may drink. I’ll raise a glass to that ;).
